I've learned to put my mental health first and not anybody else. I also realized something. I am from West Africa but only on my moms side and while I visited I had a realization about life which was that people living in Africa see me as more than I actually am. In America I am just another black girl but there people actually care about my well being and they treat me like a celebrity but I don't really want them to because I am just a normal teenage girl but with them I feel really special. Also I learned something new about myself which is that I need to slow down and take my time because I am always either dancing or doing school work but I've never really gotten to just enjoy the day or enjoy my own company. I have friends who care about me and the depression seems to be slipping away from my being by the second. I don't have anxiety attacks commonly anymore and I finally reached the last stage of grief.
