Psychiatry Residents Computer Lab. We moved from our old location (Tufts House) to a new office location on October 5, 2015. The new facility has a computer lab, fully equiped training classrooms, swing meeting rooms, and conference rooms. Pictured below is our residents' computer lab.

In the past, all lectures were held in small meeting rooms. We used desk top LCD projectors, DVD, Video Cassette players for our presentations and teaching. We did not have access to WIFI internet throughout our building. All devices were plugged into USB cords and modems for internet access.

I work for Emory University Psychiatry Residency Education Program as a Residency Program Coordinator. I am responsible for a variety of administrative duties that entails maitaining accredatation standards, as well as planning and coordinating didactic seminars, presentations, and lectures on a weekly basis. The Psychiatry Residency Training Program is a four year program. The overall goal of the residency training program at Emory University is to provide an educational experience which assures that graduating residents will possess the clinical skills and knowledge to prepare them for the independent practice of psychiatry while exposing them to the wide range of career opportunities including clinical practice, teaching, research, and administrative psychiatry. We provide a learning environment that will lead to an understanding and appreciation of the methods and findings of specific research and which will foster progress towards a research career, if that is the trainee’s intent.

Grady Memorial Hospital

Interns (PGY-1) train primarily at this facility. They obtain in depth experience stabilizing severe psychiatric disease. Interns develop expertise at evaluating and stabilizing psychiatric emergencies, as well as extensive experience managing patients who are acutely suicidal, homicidal, psychotic, and manic.

Our PGY-2 through PGY-4 residents work at this site. The VA is a teaching hospital, providing a full range of patient care services complete with state-of-the-art technology, education, and research. Patient Population/Health System: Veterans with PTSD, traumatic brain injuries, and substance dependence are unique to this population, however General Psychiatric cases are common as well
