<title>I beleive that this was their notion of &quot;Striking First&quot; and attempting to force the US to mobilize while the Japanese Navy/Army was already war ready. They sought to attack the US since there wasnt much that the Japanese could do to negotiate if they still sought to maintian &quot;Pan-Asianism&quot;, and also the allies were impinging on this ideology already. They understood that if they went to war with the British (who were increasing SE asia presence), that would also include the US</title>

<title>I think that the bushido code influence japan in their decision to fight against western powers because the code is based on the idea that it is better to fight your enemies and lose than it is to be a coward. Since the western powers were standing in the way of japan&#39;s idea of pan-Asianism, that is who they viewed as their enemy. </title>

<title>The Bushido Code was definitely a major factor in a lot of Imperial Japans decisions. Honor being one of the Bushido Code&#39;s central principles definitely influenced Japans choice to attack the west. If they were to have conceded and not fought the west it would be perceived as a sign of weakness. </title>

<title>I think that the fact that the United states was one of the obstacles in the way of japan&#39;s goal of pan-asianism is the reason that they decided to surprise the united states with this attack. Pearl Harbor was the easiest target for japan, as it is isolated from the main land, and it was a valuable naval base to the united states. </title>

<title>I learnt that the Bushido Code held lots of importance in Japanese politics. One of its principles specifically that I found affected me in the game was loyalty and respect towards superiors. Despite the fact someone may have differing opinions on a topic ultimately it is important that everyone supports the final decision as a demonstration of Japans nationalism. </title>
