         <description><![CDATA[<div>What I learned. </div><div>-Each square inch of your hand holds 600 touch sensors, the sensors on the surface record the lightest touches and the sensors that are deeper measure harder sustained pressure. Theses senses go through a web of nerves to the brain. Nerves are bundles of cells sending signals to the brain, these cells can be as long as 3 feet. The signals travel over 250 miles per hour and in a fraction of a second the brain sends signals through your body to perform your motor skills. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>How I feel about what I learned.<br>-When I learned about how fast the signals travel I felt that it was very interesting that something in our body could travel that fast. I also found interesting that our hands have 600 touch sensors and can feel a single beat of a fly's wing. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>What I learned<br>- I learned that the sensors in our bodies are not evenly distributed and that our hands have 100 times more sensors per square inch than the back of our legs.<br>- The sensors are placed where we need them most, like our heat sensors are more dense around our fingertips, nose, and elbows. When pushed to the limit these sensors might be the difference between life or death. <br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>What I learned<br>-Every second of every day nerves send signals to our brains, these signals decide how the body works. <br>- When our skin heats up to more than 93 degrees signals are sent to our brains, it uses other nerves to start the cooling process. Our blood vessels also begin to dilate bringing blood and heat to the surface more quickly. There are over 1 million tiny sweat glands are beneath our skins surface, when our body heats up sweat glands begin to extract water form the blood and release it into the open. <br>-Losing as little as 3% of the body's water will cause cramps, headaches, and disorientation. Once the body is dehydrated the brain will tell the body to stop sweating in order to keep the vital organs alive.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>How I feel about what I learned.<br>- I found it very intriguing that our body starts to sweat to cool us down but when we get dehydrated it stops sweating. This video also helped me understand why my nose and fingertips get colder than everything else since the sensors are more dense in those areas. </div>]]></description>
