During my school days, the Dance Council was an especially fun and rewarding experience that really stood out to me. As a member, I had the opportunity to get involved in various shows and performances, working closely with both peers and teachers. This involvement allowed me to take on leadership roles, helping to run dance initiatives, assisting teachers in preparing for shows, and organizing rehearsals. Through these experiences, I discovered my passion for taking the lead and offering direction, particularly in collaborative environments where I could see how my guidance contributed to the overall success of a performance.

Being on the Dance Council also taught me how to view things from a broader perspective. I found myself helping to evaluate how rehearsals and performances could be improved, offering constructive feedback, and suggesting ways to make the show better. This helped me develop critical thinking and organizational skills, while also fostering a sense of responsibility. In these roles, I realized how much I enjoyed not only participating in the creative process but also helping to coordinate and lead initiatives, which played a significant part in shaping my desire to pursue a career in education, where I could continue to encourage and guide others.

I was in extra curriculars throughout elementary school and high school. I loved sports, I was on the soccer team and track and field in elementary school. I made friends with people I normally would not have talked to if we weren't on the team together. Being in extra curricular activities helped me to be more social. In high school, I made the cheerleading team. Most of the girls were in grade 11 and 12. It was intimidating being a grade 9 with all older girls, but they made me feel welcomed and helped me with fitting in. When I made the field hockey team, I became the person I am today. That extra curricular activity helped me feel confident, even though I was playing a sport I have never played before. The team was fun and all the girls got along. This shaped who I am.

During my high school years, the physical environment, committees, and extracurricular activities played a significant role in shaping my interests and personal growth. The school provided a wide array of clubs and organizations catering to diverse hobbies and passions within the student body. As a member of the competitive dance team, I had the opportunity to connect with various groups, including the sports teams, by performing at their games and events, as well as collaborating with the photography and yearbook clubs, which documented our performances and captured our headshots. I also worked closely with the student council, helping organize and coordinate dance-related events.

The physical spaces available at the school were instrumental in supporting these activities. The well-equipped stage served as a training and performance space for the dance team, fostering creativity and teamwork. The band room, which accommodated the band club, and the gymnasiums, weight training rooms, and outdoor tracks and fields, were all designed to support a wide range of extracurricular programs, ensuring every student had the resources they needed to pursue their interests. These facilities and opportunities allowed me to immerse myself in a dynamic and collaborative school culture, fostering communication, coordination, and adaptability skills that continue to influence me today.

In elementary and high school, an extracurricular activity that I loved and became really involved in was in instrumental music. We started playing band instruments in grade 6 and I continued taking music up until grade 12. In high school, I was also part of student government in high school which was a really great extracurricular that developed my skills. Being vice-president of my council allowed me to gain a lot of knowledge, meet new people, develop relationships, and contribute to the well-being of our school environment.

In elementary school I really enjoyed track and field. This extracurricular stood out to me because it offered a wide range of athletics. I participated in relay races where I would use collaboration and teamwork with 3 other runners to win races. I would also participate in medium distance running such as the 1500m which was a mentally and physically challenging race. Finally I participated in high jump which was a really fun and rewarding sport. I started track when I was in grade 6 and I continued it into grade 9.

For extracurriculars, I participated in student council in both elementary school and high school. I won class vice-president in grade 8 and I helped to organize school events and activities. One distinct memory from this was when i was in charge of snack orders so me and the rest of student council would stay in at recess and sort popcorn bags to give out to classes. I always found this really fun.

Finally in high school I continued to be a part of student council and mentoring groups. I would mentor new grade 9's as they transitioned into high school and i would participate in the planning of school events I didn't have much time for track and field though which I regret.
