Evan, my youngest, is a Boy Scout and loves video games and Legos.  He also plays trombone.

Nate, at 16, has done a lot of research on his future career working on trains. He got his passion for trains from his Pap. As we progressed through this crazy year, we decided to go for it.  So, we are getting married next week on October 20!

For the last 14 years,  I have worked for the Allegheny Intermediate Unit.   This is where I began my career in gifted education.

Like most people, I was thrown into gifted education with little knowledge or background in gifted.  However, I have loved it and it has become a true passion.  

My current position at the Allegheny Intermediate Unit is 50% career education and 50% gifted education.  For career education, I am the Co-Director of the Career Ready State Project, working with the Pennsylvania Department of Education.

For gifted education, I am serving as the Western Pennsylvania Gifted Liaison.  This position provides best practice and support to the school districts in the western part of the state.  I work closely with Shirley Moyer, Gifted Advisor at PDE, and Patrice Semicek, Eastern Pennsylvania Gifted Liaison.  I have been in this role for a little less than a year and it has been an awesome experience. 

I was also on the PAGE board for 10 years and served as Treasurer for a lot of that time.  I can't recommend that organization enough!  They do great things for gifted education in the state.

I have a Master's in Library and Information Science from the University of Pittsburgh (Hail to Pitt!) and am starting my Master's in Gifted Education.
