Our online operating hours focus on Wednesdays, which are delivery of all pre-ordered items.

We sell the product through our on-site business too, which is located at Bunga Raya College. The operating hours are from 5 pm to 11 pm every weekday.

We also add on selling our product in Pasar Malam Bina during Fability Day in Faculty of Built Environment. The date is on 13 and 14 June, and the operating time is from 3 pm to 10 pm.

• We are a team of five students from UNIMAS launching The Lact Ice Jelly, a small business selling refreshing ice jelly desserts in various flavors. Our goal is to provide a cool, sweet treat for customers during the hot season, while also introducing and popularizing ice jelly among UNIMAS students. We operate mainly through online platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Telegram, and WhatsApp, with deliveries scheduled every Wednesday to ensure freshness and convenience.

We divided our responsibilities based on each person’s strengths, which made our workflow more efficient. I was involved in various roles, including finances, marketing, and product preparation. Each area offered its own unique challenges and learning moments.

As part of the finance team, I learned how to plan a realistic budget, manage expenses, and ensure our business remained profitable. This experience taught me that careful financial planning is essential, especially when working with limited resources. I had to analyze costs, adjust plans when unexpected expenses came up, and make informed decisions that impacted the whole team. In the media team, I helped design promotional materials, which improved my creativity and communication. As part of the kitchen team, I experienced the importance of time management, hygiene, and teamwork under pressure.

Overall, this project was much more than just a class assignment—it was a mini journey into the world of entrepreneurship. I grew not only in practical skills like budgeting, marketing, and product preparation but also in soft skills such as communication, critical thinking, and adaptability. It pushed me out of my comfort zone, strengthened my resilience, and gave me a real taste of what it takes to run a business. I’m grateful for this experience and the personal growth it brought along the way.

Running the business day-to-day taught me how to manage time, deal with unexpected issues, and communicate better with customers. There were days when the weather was too hot even for selling, or when deliveries of ingredients were delayed, throwing off my preparation schedule. However, I learned how to adjust quickly, remain calm, and find alternative solutions. Social media has also become a powerful tool, not just for promoting products, but for building relationships. Seeing returning customers and receiving positive feedback reminded me why I started in the first place: to offer something small but meaningful that brought a moment of joy to people.

More than anything, this business showed me the value of starting small and learning by doing. I didn’t need a fancy shop or big investment, just effort, consistency, and a product made with care. Ice jelly may seem simple, but through it, I discovered how much work goes into creating something worthwhile. It was never just about selling a dessert. It was about understanding what people need on a hot day, and finding satisfaction in serving it. This journey gave me confidence and the belief that even small ideas can grow into something impactful.
