It is indisputable that the amount of money paying for people on maternity leave is enormous. Therefore, there is an ongoing trend toward small companies reduce the expenses by not hiring young women. In my point of view, I do not concur with this idea for the following reasons.

Some people might argue that a great amount of money spending on pregnant women is such a waste. This is predicated on the assumption that the money will be more efficient when spending on the equipment or commercial. However, this line of reasoning is not sound as the meager contribution to the budget of the company that this policy brings. When avoid recruiting young women, the productivity of these businesses will reduce significantly, leaving only men. With this negligible human resource, it is insufficient to rise the profit of the company to pay for facilities or advertisements.

Furthermore, hiring young women will bring some advantages to the company due to a couple of reasons. First of all, unmarried women have more time to spend on their work. Single women are capable of coping with heavy workload for a long period of time as they do not responsible for taking after their children. Secondly, when leaving women out of recruitment, the company will lose its opportunity to hire talented staffs. For being young, they are likely to come up with unique ideas that the company can reap for improvements.

In conclusion, small sized businesses should hire young women, regardless of the maternity leave, due to the tremendous benefits that they bring.

There is a suggestion that small-sized companies should not employ young female workers to avoid paying money when they get pregnant. I wholeheartedly agree with the statement for the following reasons.

There are several disadvantages associated with accepting unmarried female candidates to the company. One of the main reasons is that the small business may be faced with the loss of revenue and drop in efficiency. For instance, when a young lady is hired, the company needs to grant paid maternity leave for the 6 months to the female employee. To manage work for this long duration, they often need to recruit and train someone else. Therefore, the company ends up paying double the amount of money. This will put a strain on the companies’ salary coffers, and it will negatively affect their economy.

Another drawback they consider is that when the female employees come back, she often needs time to adjust to the changes that happen in the company and would take more days off to care for the child. For instance, the project on which she was working, could now have advanced and she would need time to know all the changes in the project after which only she will be able to contribute to the business.

Conclusion, recruiting young women can create some potential downsides, I believe that small businesses avoid hiring young female employee in order not to deal with finacial problems.
