Tool Description - Pebble-GO is a great tool for students to use to discover different subjects such as animals, science, biographies, social studies, and even health. I love the font size and how big it is for students to see clearly.

There is also a Spanish text available, which you can see above. I wish there was more languages available for more students such as French or Chinese. I love how many different topics and things there are to do to discover a certain subject.

UDL Connection - I think that this resource could be more accessible for students. I wish that there was more languages available. For early learners, I think it is great to help them discover more complex language but I think kindergarten might a little complex. But for 1st graders and 2nd graders language is great. I think that this source does model exploration and evaulation and gives different avenues for students to explore certain subjects.

Tool Description - I love that PebbleGo has different topics to explore about empathy such as exploring empathy at home, at school, and in sports or even why empathy is important and the definition of empathy as well! It even has an activity and a video which is so in depth to explore different emotions.

Epic !

Tool Description - I love that with Epic, it genuinely feels like a student could be reading a book. You have full screen options, reading buddies, and reading badges to acquire. I think that the extra encouragements with the reading buddies and reading badges is a great incentive for students to want to read. There is videos, audiobooks, and comics for kids to explore as well. There is also different language options for kids to explore as well such as Spanish, Chinese, and French! Epic has over 2,500 Spanish, 700 French Books, and hundreds of Chinese books.

UDL Connection - I think that this resource overall is pretty good for students. I think the accessibility options should be more obvious for students because it wasn't too obvious to me where the accessibility options were and I had to look it up. Epic has speech to text, read to me books, and audiobooks. For Apple Users, there are tools such as VoiceOver, Seeing AI, and Be My Eyes and these are all tools to help the visual impairment to interact with the app. I do think that Epic meets the identification, exploration, and evaluation because it gives students a chance to do all of these options through picking their books on Epic.

Tool Description - I used Safari to read this article about Winter in Seattle. For Safari, you can have text read to you when you right click on it. There's also a "show in finder", where you can see the definitions of certain words.

UDL Connection - Safari needs better accesibility access for its users. I don't believe it passes the ISTE standard for accessibility as it doesn't really advance or shape a shared vision for empowered learning with technology and it doesn't advocate for equitable access to educational technology to meet the diverse needs of all students. Safari needs to work on adding tools such as immersive reader as I did see it had "reader mode" but there is no great way of adding this to your browser easily and it doesn't seem accessible.

Tool Description - Immersive Reader has a lot of excellent features for OneNote. One of the features that it has is to highlight different parts of speech, text preferences, line focus (helps you specifically focus on certain lines when you're reading). Also, Immersive reader has reading coach which allows students to see their reading score which shows their accuracy, words to practice, and time spent reading. There is also a ton of different languages that a reader/student can choose from.

UDL Connection - Immersive Reader has all the standards mastered. It encourages readers to have a vision for empowered learning with technology, it advocates for equitable access to educational technology, and models the exploration/tools for new learning.
