         <description><![CDATA[<div>- Synthetic latex is a man-made version of latex. It is produced from <strong>petroleum compounds</strong><strong><sup>1</sup></strong> <strong>Styrene</strong><strong><sup>2</sup></strong> and <strong>Butadiene</strong><strong><sup>3</sup></strong> to create Styrene-Butadiene rubber, also known as SBR. As the name states, this is completely man-made and is plastic like most other conventional forms.<br>                  - <strong>1:</strong> <em>naturally occurring hydrocarbons of various molecular weights and may contain miscellaneous organic compounds. The name petroleum covers both naturally occurring unprocessed crude oil and petroleum products that are made up of refined crude oil.<br>                  - </em><strong><em>2:</em></strong><em> The conventional method of producing styrene involves the alkylation of benzene with ethylene to produce ethylbenzene, followed by dehydrogenation of ethylbenzene to styrene<br>                    - </em><strong><em>3: </em></strong><em>Butadiene is produced commercially by extractive distillation from crude butylene concentration (C4) stream, a by-product of ethylene and propylene production.<br></em><br>- Synthetic latex has been successfully used in order to produce proprietary mortars (a short smoothbore gun for firing shells(technically called bombs) at high angles), screeds (a leveled layer of material… eg. cement), and surface coatings.
