Villages have an unprecedented amount of greenery - be it huge trees or small plants or tiny grasses. The huge canopy brings cool shade and shelter for the animals and the humans as well. It brings peace of mind and sets a pleasant mood. This also provides fresh air which we are running out of in the urban areas.

I envision a self-sustaining village wherein the swift-flowing currents and rapids flowing through the mountains are harnessed to produce hydroelectric power and hence, providing necessary electricity to meet the village needs and for meeting the water requirements of the village and its people. The unit will also provide jobs to the people who will have to look after the dam and the reservoir.

The lower course of the river can be used for fishing and the water can be transported for irrigation purposes thereby providing food and water to the locals for their individual needs. The construction of a bridge will pave way for easy transporation of goods and will ensure import-export of goods that will promote trade and commerce in the village thus, helping in increasing the prosperity of the village.

The attached photo, is a panoramic view of the dam on the left and a bridge on the right that allows easy commute across the river.

Farmers, especially those near my place, have not enough supply of water for their crops. This is partially due to the fact that the former AP is now split into AP and Telangana due to which the water resources are to be distributed among the two states. For a regular farmer all of this means waking up in the middle of the night hoping to water their crops when there's a better chance of a good supply.
I hope this would not be the case for those farmers. I hope to see adequate supply of water for irrigation.

In general, villagers are not very particular about sanitation and hygiene. Lots of them even use the nearby sources of water like rivers and ponds for their excretion. This is more or less fine apart from the privacy concerns. And the others don't even bother dumping on the grasses. This in-turn becomes the place for mosquitoes and bacteria. These enter their homes through water, fruits, vegetables and via some other sources. To avoid these kinds of issues, we need a reliable and cost-effective solution for the proper feces disposal. We also need the solution to be easily adaptable considering the fact that we are wanting to convince the villagers that our solution actually benefits them in ways that they didn't think of before. Conduction of some awareness campaigns helps them realize the importance of these measures and also helps in quick adoption of the remedy. They also need to be made aware that following certain practices like washing hands from time to time, taking bath regularly is essential.

People in village mostly prefer self care because of lack of education and blind believe in black magics and all. Later what happens is that they lose the life of their loved ones. My aunt she works in a hospital and she said whenever people see some symptoms they take these people to the place where black magic occurs and at last stage they bring them hospital and they will die. Secondly hospitals are much far away from the village so in emergency cases its very difficult to rescue their life. Even hospital is there either doctors wont be that much available or better facilities won't be there. Since they are the care takers of sacred groves that place will have a lots of ayurvedic plants which have a lots of medicinal benefits. But sometime these ayurvedic medicines cannot cure or give effects to certain diseases . So they need to depend on antibiotics. For that we need to provide them much information about health and importance of consulting a doctor. Also government to take measures for the assurance of village people health as they are also important.
