St Paul of Tarsus travelled on many journeys for years to spread the good word of Jesus, but before this St Paul was actually named Saul. Saul was a man from Tarsus, who punished anyone who followed Jesus. One day Saul got struck by a light, it was Jesus. Jesus told him to change his bad ways. After this Saul could not see, eat or drink for three days. After these three day were up Saul got these things back and began to spread the word of Jesus. Saul wanted a fresh start due to his conversion and this is how he became St. Paul of Tarsus.

In total there are 14 letters but it is believed that St Paul only wrote 7 of the 14 letters. He wrote these letters in order to further spread the good word of Jesus. Paul's most powerful expression of his faith towards Jesus is shown in the letter he wrote to the Romans. In this letter i think the main message was about Jesus dying on the cross for us and sacrificing his life. This message largely contributes to the base of Christianity. In St Paul's letter to the Romans it also states that the Christian 'lifestyle' helped him to overcome his eternal struggle between his spirit and flesh.

One of St Paul's cultural challenges he faced was the Jewish belief of Circumcision. St Paul expressed his challenge with this in his letters to the churches of Galatia. St Paul believed that love and the new creation of life was far more important than whether or not the believer of christianity was circumcised or not. This was a very passionates cultural challenge of Paul's as he truly believed in the way of Jesus and that is why he found it very hard to 'disagree' with one of Jesus' religious beliefs.

Paul's letters helped us today to understand exactly what Jesus did and how greatly it affected others. St Paul's message can definitely be applied to our every day lives, especially in the letter Paul wrote to the Galatians. In this letter Paul teaches the Galatians the feeling of joy and freedom when living through the word of Jesus. This applies to our every day lives as when you follow in Jesus ways now and live through his teachings you feel joyful and can enjoy all the wonderful things he and God have created for us on Earth.
