When I think back to when I learned how to add and subtract fractions, I never really understood what it was I was doing. I just knew how to do it. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>I learned that when dividing fractions you can use a bar model to represent both fractions. This helps students visually see the fractions they are working with. Bar models can also be used with addition and subtraction of fractions. For multiplication you can use an array model to solve. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>One thing I learned throughout this unit has been the importance of using visual representations to show students exactly what they're doing when solving fraction operations. Being able to see exactly how to solve the problems using the visual model is really helpful to students because they can visually see how to get the answer, which makes solving them more understandable.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>One thing I learned about teaching decimals is that each time you move one place value to the left, the number is then ten times bigger. This is a good way to represent solving problems with decimals, to show students exactly what is happening when multiplying by 10, 100, 1000, etc.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Today I learned how to represent decimals on a number line when trying to find numbers in between two numbers for example, .75 and 1. I also learned why we add more digits in lower place values when you are trying to find numbers in between closer values like .40 and .42. We add more digits in the lower place values because there is a smaller gap between .40 and .42 so you have to add on more digits in the lower place values to come up with numbers in between two numbers with a smaller gap.</p>]]></description>
