The increase in ocean temperatures have caused a rise in parasites among sea lions. Certain bodies of water can dry up forcing them to find new areas to live in. Killer whales and sharks pose a threat to these sea lions who try to move away from drying bodies of water.

https://www.sealion-world.com/sea-lions-and-global-warming/

California sea lions are intelligent and playful animals, that have a noisy bark. All of those are trademark qualities that are known about the animal.

The animal comes in colors of brown chocolate for the males and a light golden color for the females. Which are distinct differences between the two. Other differences range with their weight (850lbs for males and 220 for females), size (males are 7ft and the females are 6ft), and even how their age is classified (starting in the juvenile stage of the sea lion's life, where females mature faster than the males).

Males also get a lighter color on their heads, which gets a boney bump around the age of 5 (subadult)as they age.

http://www.marinemammalcenter.org/education/marine-mammal-information/pinnipeds/california-sea-lion/
