Zinc was discovered in 1746 by Andreas Marggraf. While making a brass alloy, he isolated the pure metal. Because Marggraf was German, the name "zinc" came from the German word "zinn" which means tin. It is usually never found in it's purest form. Zinc can be found in minerals of the Earth's crust or in traces of the ocean.

People use electrical equipment everyday for work, school, entertainment, etc. It is also in copper pennies. We use copper pennies to pay for things we need and to get change back on things we have payed for. In conclusion, Zinc is all around us, and it is very helpful to our everyday lives.
