>During recess time, you saw your classmate stay behind in your classroom and when everybody came back, a classmate claimed that she lost her wallet.
-------------------------------------------------------
1.) Problem:
Classmate A stole the wallet of Classmate B.
2.) Choices:
a. Confront/Approach:
- the suspect will either deny or admit.
- we need to know why Classmate A decided to steal.
b. Report:
- needs proof before before reporting; misunderstandings will arise.
- Classmate A will get suspended.
c. Ignore:
- Classmate A might do it again.
3.) CCS Values:
Christian Values will help guide us in making a decision.
4.) Feelings:
a. If we confront the suspect, the victim will:
- feel humiliated
i. We will:
- feel righteous
ii. The suspect will:
- feel guilty
b. If we report, the victim will:
- feel humiliated and angry ( we didn't talk to the victim first, that's why he/she felt angry )
i. We will:
- feel righteous but guilty that we didn't talk to the victim first.
ii. The suspect will:
- feel angry and betrayed by the sudden report.
c. If we ignore, the victim will:
- feel confused or angry for days since his/her wallet still hasn't been found.
i. We will:
- feel guilt and regret.
ii. The suspect will:
- feel guilty but with no regrets since they think they haven't been found out yet.
5.) More Information:
We will acquire more information (if necessary) by talking to the victim and asking questions such as:
- How much was inside the wallet?
- Do you know anyone who can possibly target you?
6.) Who can help?
Other than us, the authorities can help.
7.) What is our decision?
We will go with the first choice; confront/approach the suspect.
8.) Assess our decision?
We will confront/approach the suspect and ask questions as to why they had to steal Classmate B's wallet.
