The bell rang. You could hear the screeching of chairs and the pattering of footsteps as students burst out of their classrooms like prisoners running out of their cells during a prison break and made a beeline to the staircases in hoards. My friend, Tom, waited for me while I switched off the lights and fans as I was the class monitor.
“Jude! Are you done? ”Tom called out to me.
I nodded my head and we both left the classroom, chatting animatedly. We both waved goodbye to each other as I set off from school as usual.
            As I was walking back, it suddenly started raining. I started searching for my umbrella. Unfortunately, I did not have my umbrella and within minutes, it was raining cats and dogs. The raindrops fell like bullets from the sky. Soon, I was drenched from head to toe and my shirt stuck to my back like second skin. My hair stuck to my face, and I brushed my sopping hair off my forehead.  I decided to use my bag to shelter myself as it was waterproof. The wind howled like a wolf, and I started to feel very cold, and I wished I had brought a jacket along and had a cup of hot chocolate.
            I was shaking like a leaf and sneezing like mad when I decided to make a dash for the traffic light to the other side as the green man was about to turn red. 
            As I ran I almost tripped and fell as I did not notice that there was a puddle on the floor in front of me and I fell flat on my face but I was not injured. I only had some bruises on my body.
            As I was about to stand up, unfortunately I fell flat again. It kept happening for a while till I managed to stand up and regain my balance. By then my body was full of  bruise that my complexion looked more purplish than my skin tone. It was indeed foolish of me to think that I would be able to cross the road in the rain safely as there were no on coming traffic. Little did I know that I also could get hurt by just falling down on the road. To make things worse, me being all wet when crossing the road made it more difficult for me to get up quickly. the puddle and my wet body just made things worse which was something I did not foresee coming. However, I am still grateful that no car or vehicle came by when I was struggling to get up.
            I learned that I should not run in the rain because it is dangerous and that you can get injuries and a cold or a fever. I should always bring an umbrella along so that if there is rain, I will not catch a cold or have to run in the rain. I have never done that again since that incident.

Di Di Di”  “Please mind the platform gap” a voice spoke in multiple languages.  I entered the train with my heavy school bag and bulky science project in hand.  I wiped my sweat with my arm, panting hard after a long day in school. I scanned the train for a seat.  At the corner of my eye, I noticed a seat.  As I approached it, a large, well-built man pushed me aside and sat down.  I looked at him and gave him a glare.  The man ignored me and whipped out his phone.

After one stop, an old man came in looking tired and sweaty and searched for a seat but there was not a single seat to be seen so he leaned against the glass door of the train.

"Screech" as the train was coming to a stop I held on to my science project and held on to the hand grip next to me. Just then, the old man fell down flat on his face as he lost his balance. A young boy saw the old man fall down and stood up to help him and offered his seat. 

That made me look at the well-bodied man with anger in my eyes.

I was about to tell the man off and wanted to tell the little boy to bring him there but my instincts told me not to. Then I went up to the little boy and praised him for being considerate and commended him right in-front of the well-bodied guy.

"You are a small little boy but has a big heart towards others! Good job" as I commended the little boy in front of the well bodied man loudly to make the well bodied man feel remorseful to his actions.

When the well bodied man heard my comments towards the little boy, his face turned as red as a tomato and stood up and apologised to me for not being as considerate as the little boy and what he had done to me just now and apologised to the old man.The lesson learned from this experience is that we should always be aware of what is happening in our surrounding especially if someone near needs help. It is always welcomed to offer your help willing to those people.

"Class, there will be homework given and it must be handed up by next Monday!" Mr Cheh told the class firmly. Everyone was excited about the homework as Mr Cheh added that there will be a reward for those who managed to completed it with a perfect score.
 
"Ring!"the school bell sounded, as it was time to go home.Everyone packed their bags and thanked Mr Cheh for his teaching and left the school.
 
When Tom reached home his mother asked if he had homework to be completed and he answered no as he did not want his mother to ask him to complete it right away. He wanted to destress and relax first before doing anything associated with school. He was over confident as he has always been good at Math and thought that he would be able to finish the homework in a jiffy just before Monday and get the reward. As such, he went to bathe and started playing his computer game, Minecraft.
 
He asked his friends through WhatsApp if they wanted to play  Minecraft with him. They were not keen as they were all more interested in completing Mr Cheh's homework. He then decided to take a nap until the rest of friends were ready to play with him. After playing Minecraft with his friends, he ate his dinner and went straight to bed and had totally forgot to complete his homework.
 
 "Class take out your homework and pass it down to the front!” Mr Cheh instructed the class the next day. Everyone handed in their homework but only Tom did not have anything to submit as his homework since he had not completed it in due to his over confidence.
 
After this incident, Tom learnt not to be over confident and to complete his homework on time without procrastinating. He also learned to prioritise his school work above everything else. This lesson enabled him to not hand in work late again and made him perform well in the end-of-the year examinations.

"Coming in first for the four hundred meter race is Tommy Lee form Primary 5A!" the announcer said as the spectators sitting at the grand stand cheered enthusiastically. Naga watched Tommy climb up the podium to receive his medal and the thought that it should have been him in his place made tears roll out of his eyes like a cascading waterfall. Naga wiped the tears off his face and looked down at his bandaged foot as his mind reversed into a flashback of the unfortunate incident which had led to this.

 "Class, if any of you are interested in the four hundred meter race, you may go to the general office to sign up for it. It will be held on Monday, the twenty-ninth of April twenty-twenty-two", Mr Teh announced to the class. Naga was very eager to join this race as it was something he was looking forward to all year. He immediately rushed to the office and registered to take part in the race. From that day onwards, Naga religiously trained to prepare himself for the race.
 
From the very next day, Naga started training very hard. Every morning, Naga went to a nearby park to do some sprinting and also to time himself so that he could monitor his progress.  He also planned his diet to ensure that he had the energy to maintain the fitness til the day of the race.
 
On twenty-eighth of April, Naga wanted to go out again for training.As Naga was still sleepy and was not very aware of is surrounding. "Ouch! My Feet!!!!!"Naga screamed as blood oozed out of his foot. The shattered glass from the spectacles which was on the floor had cut into Naga's foot. His parents heard his cries and came up to see what is the matter.
 
When Naga's parents reached his room, they were shock to see Naga sitting on the floor with blood coming out from his foot and immediately called the ambulance and he was sent to the hospital.At the hospital the doctor helped to abstract the pieces of glass and bandaged his foot. He was not allowed to do anything that includes running so his parents told the school that their son would not be able to join the race tomorrow. Naga was sad to hear that he could not join the race when he had the opportunity to.Suddenly Naga was called by his friend and was wakened from his flash back.
 
Naga learnt to be aware of his surroundings and to be careful next time. 

"Good job Gaius! You have impressed us with your marks! We will definitely bring you to the amusement park as we promised you!" my parents exclaimed. The day my parent brought me to the amusement park  had arrived. It was newly constructed near my house. Everyone who knew about the park wanted to experience the water roller coaster ride as it was scary and adrenaline pumping at the same time. I wanted to experience it for myself and wanted to boast about it with my friends the next day in school.
 
Upon reaching the amusement park, it was crowded with a lot of people. There were lots of games and activities to do but something caught my eyes. It was the water roller coaster ride. My parents saw me admiring the water roller coaster and quickly bought the tickets and brought me for the ride.
 
" Yahoo!Yay!This is fun! Mum  and Dad we should do this again another day ok!?"I asked my parents. "Ok!"they replied. Suddenly, the ride experienced a breakdown when we were going down hill. Everyone was scared and panicked. Later we got to know that a little girl was scared as the ride was too fast and had a toy with her and threw it out of the ride and the toy landed on the tracks resulting in it getting stuck. That was how the breakdown took place.
 
Then, someone called for help on their mobile phone.
After a while, help came. They examined then started the repairs and soon the train could move again.
 
After the ride, we came out of the train and continued with the other activities.This incident will be a memorable day for me.

"Mum can I watch YouTube on your phone now? Please."I begged why mother."No! You have been using the phone continuously from Monday until now non-stop!" my mother angrily answered .She does not want me to use the phone as it is bad for my eyes. She told me the she will not let me use her phone until she sees that I have kicked my bad habit of watching too much videos. It all started from one morning ........ 
 
"Ring!" the school bell rang, it was time to go home.Everyone dashed out of their classroom like prisoner escaping their prison cells during a jail break."Hey Tom! I just uploaded a video on YouTube yesterday and I would like you to watch it!"my friend Feng kai told me, while we walked home together."Okay!I will see whether my mum allows me to use her phone to watch YouTube."I answered.
 
When I reached home, I straight away ran to my mother to seek permission to use her phone to watch YouTube."Mum!May I use your phone to watch a video that my friend has uploaded on YouTube!Please I am begging you!"I asked my mother,"Okay!"My mother replied.I went to my mother's room and borrowed her phone.I opened her phone and searched for the app YouTube and clicked it........
  
Once I found my friend's video, I clicked on it and watched it."Hahahahah!It is so hilarious!"I laughed at the video.His video was about him playing mine craft hundred days challenge in a circle in hardcore mode.He even screamed when he was attacked by monsters in the game.
 
The next day,I wanted to explore YouTube and its functions so I asked my mother for her phone again and she allowed me to do so.Then every other day I also asked her for the phone and she allowed.After a while, she got annoyed as this was turning into a bad habit of watching YouTube unnecessarily.
 
Then on Sunday,"Mum can I watch YouTube on your phone now? Please."I begged why mother."No! You have been using the phone continuously from Monday until now non-stop!" my mother angrily answered.Now she does not want me to use the phone as it is bad for my eyes. She told me the she will not let me use her phone until she sees that I have kicked my bad habit of watching too much videos.
 
Suddenly, I was hit back to reality due to the shouting of my mother's voice."Have you been listening to what I have said?!"my mother shouted,"You look like you have been dreaming the whole time!"After this incident, I started using the phone when necessary or for a while once a week. 

"Help! It is there! I saw it!"   my sister yelled for help as she ran out of her room like a kitten frightened upon hearing a thunder. After hearing the cries of my sister, my father and grandmother ran over to comfort my sister.  They asked her what she saw. She was panicking and was not able to articulate anything properly. All they could hear was deep and fast breathing and the word help coming out from her mouth.  My father went into the room with curiousity filled to the brim of his mind. He was not sure what he was expecting to see. What he saw in the room was something he could have never imagined.

To his horror, he saw a snake slithering in the room. The snake was at least two metres long with yellow and black skin and had a triangular head with a distinct V-shaped mark on it. Then he took out a particular tool which was a stick with a string with a loop on the other end and pulling part at the bottom. 
 
My sister encountering a snake in our house is not a uncommon  thing. The high frequency of these events have injected a phobia for snakes in her heart. Every time my sister sees a snake, she will scream and it is always my father and my grandmother killing the snake. Then one day, my sister wanted to take something from her room when suddenly a snake appeared out of nowhere and gave my sister a shock of her life and screamed for help.
 

"Help! It is there! I saw it!" my sister yelled for help as she ran out of her room like a kitten frightened upon hearing a thunder. After hearing the cries of my sister, my father and grandmother ran over to comfort my sister.  They asked her what she saw. She was panicking and was not able to articulate anything properly. Then,he slowly slip the loop through the snake's neck when the snake was not looking and then quickly tightened the loop on the end of the stick and stepped on the tail to hold the snake down.

Soon the snake started to drift off and die. After seeing what happened, my father and grandmother heaved a sigh of relief and picked the snake up with a rubbish bag and drove to a field nearby where no one goes to and dug a hole big enough to bury the snake in and then cover back the snake with the soil he dug out and left.
 
After this frightening experience my sister went through, she learnt to look out for her surroundings before going into her room. I also learnt to be aware of my surroundings for emerging dangers after watching what happened.

I looked out the window eagerly and said,"Wow ! what a nice day to go jogging at the park! It is cooling and cloudy. Mum can I go to the park for a jog"I asked my mother."Ok!Remember to come home early for lunch."my mother replied.After wearing my running shoes, I left for the park.
 
Before I left the house I did my warm up stretches. I jogged all the way to the park and continued jogging. The park was very big nonetheless I still went many rounds around it .When I passed by a little boy and his mother who were having a lot of fun playing catching, it reminded me of the time I spent with my parents when I was much younger.
 
After another round of jogging, I heard a scream for help. I was curious to what had happened and followed the sound which lead me back to the little boy and his mother who I had passed by just now. I quickly ran up the slope and saw that the little boy's foot was stuck in a hole in the grass patch. The little boy's face was wet with tears as he was tugging at his leg. I could see that he was in great pain and his mother was panicking as she realised that if the leg is not puled out in time, the blood circulation to the leg would be affected. This would have serious medical consequences for the boy.
 
At first, the little boy's mother tried digging the ground with her bare hands, but it was of no use. I quickly dashed home to take my shovel. After taking the shovel, I ran back to the park and digged the soil so that the little boy could pull his leg out and walk again.
 
When I began digging, it was easy. However, soon the soil around his trapped leg got harder. I dug deeper the soil was getting harder and  harder. The boy's leg was trapped deeper than I thought it was. A crowd started to gather around the little boy, his mother and me to see what was happening. The mother was trying to keep calm and kept telling the boy that he will be fine. As I dug deeper I started to perspire a lot and I had to wipe my sweat continuously using my shirt but I continued to dig although I was getting very tired.
 
As I continued to dig, the soil small fissures began to  appear around the boy's leg. I told the boy to wriggle his feet a little bit and he will be able to take out his leg. The little boy did as I told him and he was able to pull his leg out of the soil with a bit of strength.
 
After the boy's leg was out, the crowd started to disperse and then no one was left other than the three of us. The little boy's mother dusted the soil off the little boy's leg and saw that there were some scratches and asked him to try walking and the boy immediately stood up and could walk quite well. It looked like the little boy was ok and could walk fine.
 
After checking on the little boy, his mother turned to me and thanked me for being selfless and doing the extra mile in helping her son and she handed me a fifty-dollar note. When I saw the fifty dollars I was shock but I decline the fifty dollars and bid the boy and his mother good bye and left.
 
I was happy that I had done a kind act by helping the little boy.

"Kids you may watch the television as you all have finished your with the chores !" mother said to Tom and Amber as they were exhausted after cleaning the floor."Yay! Thanks mum!"they replied in excitement.

"Hey there Gaius!What are you going to do during this coming school holiday?"my friend Javier asked."I do not know yet!Probably go cycling with my family."I replied as me and my friend were walking home together as we say at the same place."How about we challenge each other to a race up a hill one day?""ok sounds good to me!"I answered.
 
"Mum I am home!"I exclaimed."Welcome home Gaius!I made your favourite meal, Carbonara!"My mother surprised me,"Wow!Thanks mum!I smells delicious!"After thanking my mother I quickly took a fork and spoon and started eating.It tastes so amazing and wished that I could eat it every day.After eating,I told my mother what Javier had said and she agreed.
 
After talking with my mother,I walked over to Javier's house and knocked on the door and waited.Immediately the door opened,"Whats up!"" My mother agreed to the challenged.This is not a race right?" I asked Javier,"Yes this is not a race, this is just for fun!"he answer "ok!"I said and left.
 
Everyday I would go cycling with my parents and we will cycle for a long time and then go back home.Javier told me that the challenge was on next Friday which is the fifth of July.So practiced hard but I do not know what Javier is doing to prepare for the challenge.
 
A few days later, me and my friend waited outside our houses for our parents to drive us to a hill with our bicycles.A few minutes later, our parents came out and we went to the hill.We got our bikes ready and our parents were the judges."on your mark!Get set!Ready go!"our parents shouted.At once  we sped off,Javier was taking the lead at first but after a while I took the lead and reached the top first."How did you win?"Javier asked ,"I cycled everyday with my parents to train for this day!"I answered."So that is why you won!Hahaha!"After that we walked down the hill carefully with our bikes.My friend Javier and I had fun after the challenge.

"Gaius go and pack your room !"My mother told me.While I was packing my room and found a poster that I had for a long time and remembered that day and went into a flash back.
 
On my way back home, I walked past a poster saying,"Missing dog. Reward three hundred dollars.If found call 98342536.The dog is black coloured and is a female beagle."I decided total the poster in case I found the dog and would be able to call the owner of the dog.So I took the poster and went home.
 
The next day,i decided to go for a jog at the park near by.I packed a small pouch with a small water bottle.So once I reach the park I did some warm up and started my jog.
 
After a few minutes,I saw a person walking a dog and the dog looks familiar.I walked to the person and asked,"Have you found your dog already?"The person slammed and did not answer properly and walked away.I felt that the person looks suspicious.I shouted,"You are a stealer!"The person heard what I said and made a runoff it with the dog.
 
I ran as fast as I could and caught up with the thief and snatched the leash out of his hand.After that I made the thief fall and called the police.Then after calling the police I called the owner of the dog.After a while the owner of the dog and the police came.The police took the thief away and I returned the dog to its owner.The owner took out three hundred dollars and I denied it and went home.
 
Suddenly I was knocked back to reality from my mother's voice and continued packing my room.From this experience I learnt that it is good to go out to help some one. 

"Miso! Time to eat!"I called as I gave Miso,my cat, his dinner."Meow……Meow……"Miso meowed as he walked to me to get his dinner. Miso was a injured stray cat that I had found at the void deck a few years ago……
 
"Ding!Dong!Ding!Dong"the school bell rang, it was time to go home.Everyone ran out of their classrooms like prisoners running out of their cells during a prison breaks packed my bag and walked out of the class.While I was on the way to my houses, as I walked at the void deck to the stair case at my HDB I heard meowing sounds."Meow!Meow!"At the corner of my eye I saw a baby kitten. When I approached it I saw the paw of the kitten red so I decided to bring it home and ask my parents whether we can bring the kitten to the vet, and they agreed.
 
The next moment we were in the car on our way to the vet."Meow……Meow……"the kitten meowed again and suddenly there was blood oozing out of the kitten's paw.When I saw this I told my parents about it and took a few pieces to tissue from the packet in front of me and wiped the kitten's paw.A few minutes later, we reached the vet and told the vet that the kitten is injured and needs help.The vet listened and asked us whether she can examine the kitten.
 
After the vet examined the kitten, she told us that the kitten has a severe injury on its paw and needs to be operated immediately."The kitten will be fine after the operation but it cannot walk for a few months after the operation."the vet said.We were glad that the kitten will be fine that the kitten will be fine.So we told the vet that she can continue with the operation.So the vet took the kitten into the operation room and did the operation.
 
After a few minutes, the vet came out with the kitten and the kitten had a bandage around its left paw.I asked my mother,"Mum since we have to take care of the kitten, can it be my pet? Please!"I begged my mother.My mother reluctantly agreed. I was happy that my mother allowed me to have my own pet.After the operation the vet told us that the cat can only drink milk and rest,it cannot walk so it will have to be sitting down or lying down.We nodded and thanked the vet after paying at the counter and left.
 
When we were in the car I decided on a name to call the kitten. I called it ,Miso, since it was a boy.So for the next three months, we feed Miso milk everyday.After three months we decided to bring Miso to the vet and see whether the bandage could be taken off.When we reached, we saw the same vet as the last time and she told us that the bandage could be taken off and Miso would be able to walk.We were happy to hear the news that Miso would be able to walk again but he had to go through simple walking exercises before he can start walking normally.So for the next few days we brought Miso to the vet for some walking exercises,and soon Miso was able to walk again.
 
Suddenly I was knocked back to reality by Miso's licking on my face and I realised that he had finished his food and now he was asking me for a scratch.I was glad that I did the right thing to save Miso.

"Good morning class!Today we are going to have an interesting project,Coding your own game!"Mr Steven He announced to the class."Yay!"the whole class exclaimed in extreme excitement. It was so intense that everyone could feel their blood pumping in enthusiasm.
 
The next moment we knew the three class enemies were unfortunately teamed up.Tom,Steven She and James.They were always competing who is smarter but each of them had their own talent.Tom had a good knowledge of designing, Steven She was knowledgeable in coding and James had ideas so it would be good to have the three of them together but they always quarrel due to their differences.
 
"Why are you people teamed up we me?!WHAT THE!"Tom said."No choice!Just deal with it!"James answered."I agreed although we are enemies!"Steven She agreed with James."Ok!Let us just start planing on what we are going to code.James you think of the idea,I will design the game and Steven She you will code the game.Ok?!"Tom said."Ok!"James and Steven She answered.
 
The moment they finished talking, they immediately started the computer and opened the coding app,C.R.S.Before they coded the game they plan what they were doing on paper.
 
After a few minutes of planing,they started to code the game Steven She was at the computer typing and Tom helped in the designing.Few minutes later the team finished the game thanks to Steven She.Once everyone was done Mr Seven He called Tom's team to present.Tom's team came forward and explained their game.After they present their game the whole class clapped for their hard work.Then followed by the other teams.Ten minutes later,Mr Steven He announced the winner of the project and it was Tom's team. Everyone was shock that the three class enemies won.
 
Tom, Steven She and James Learnt that teamwork makes the dream achievable and they were never enemies after that they are now friends, best friends.
