1. How can we measure personal fulfillment from a job or career choice?

Jamie Cornell, writer of the "Life Balancing Act" gave an interesting way to measure personal and career fulfillment. She said that by making sure your life has balance especially in your line of work can make you feel more fulfilled. she said, "thinking about ‘balance’ in a different way has helped me to accept that it’s always going to feel like work." and that, "The hardest work often has the biggest payoffs in the end." So, although work is hard and will always feel like work, if you obtain balance to will be happy and feel more fullfilled.

2. What does the phrase, “maintain balance in your life” mean in the context of occupational wellness?

Balance and occupational wellness go hand in hand. One of my classes definition's of O.W. is "Being able to achieve a balance between work and free time." UHW & LC writers of "Live Life Well", define O.W. by saying, "Occupational wellness is also the ability to achieve a balance between work and leisure in a way that promotes health, a sense of personal satisfaction and is (for most people) financially rewarding." So, by keeping that balance in work and getting the free time as a reward is what I believe occupational wellness really means.

3. Is there a connection to tenure and wellness?

Tenure can be a way to obtain more job security and get more freedom in a job which can be a good thing in terms of wellness because usually you get more time off, higher pay, and many other liberties that leads to greater happiness levels, less stress, and more drive. However, Dr. Allan Kadish says, "many have argued that tenured professors have too much freedom and not enough incentive to perform their academic duties at the highest level." So having too much freedom that comes along with tenure can be a bad thing too. Which leads me to my first opinion of having to work hard and then have an appropriate award.

4. Is there a connection between earnings and high levels occupational wellness?

Money seems to have a significant connection to occupational wellness. If you have more money the more you can go on vacation and stress less about the bills that are due. Hannah Rodriguez stated that, "annual Stress in America Survey, in 2015, 65% of adults found work to be a significant source of stress and 67% of adults found money to be a very significant source of stress." Therefore saying that by having more money there's less stress about obtaining it.

Many studies have shown that the more education you have the more pay and benefits you will get however, that is not always the case and some people can achieve a high pay without any education at all. Data from San Diego county states that, "The largest share of students with degrees awarded in San Diego County, CA are enrolled at Public, 4-year or above institutions." And were making the most amount of money. However, it also compared the people that didn't go to a four or got those degrees, and they were still high.
