Yilam :)
Well, not this year- but I did experience somewhat anxiety in the previous year. I did not pay attention to the pandemic at first since I never really knew what it was, but soon when citizens were required to wear masks and school on campus was on hold, I started panicking and frantically google for whatever there was on the internet. However, there were only uncertainties and nothing was helping, so thats when I calmed down and started thinking of ways to live with the new ‘normal’
My family held daily board game sessions and I texted my friends everyday. Church zoom meetings were also nice- (its kinda like therapy not gonna lie) and remixing songs with my own music helped coping with the long days. Luckily, I have a quite chaotic family with 6 people living under the same roof- so many things might happen at once and home is never boring!

1) The article tells us to inform ourselves about the pandemic and ground ourselves on facts rather than perceived threats. Actively knowing of the pandemic gives a feeling of security and prevents misinformation from causing unnecessary panic. The article also advises us to open up on our anxieties to close ones or professionals.

2) Of course. I've spent some hours pondering over whether I might've accidentally gotten covid and spread it to my more immunocompromised family members. It was hard, having anxiety on every move I make outside and inside the house. I was really afraid of it, until I fell into a rhythm and now it feels just like normal. Until then, I was very meticulous with my pandemic prevention measures, comforting myself with the fact that I would've done all that I could. My family and I also hold several family dinners every month to discuss serious topics with each other, like therapy but cheaper and deffo lower quality XD

On the bright side, I could still use my phone to text them and FaceTime them, and it was great seeing them through my phone every day as if we were meeting each other in person.

Eunice 3B21

1) Regarding the issue of coronavirus anxiety, the article gives several pieces of advice to help us cope with it. First off, it mentions that practicing relaxation techniques might be helpful to calm the anxiety. In fact, there are a myriad of those techniques, such as the basic ones like belly breathing or deep breathing, and others like singing or writing in a journal to distract ourselves from the anxiety. Furthermore, people who are experiencing coronavirus anxiety are also strongly advised to speak up to adults or friends about their feelings so as to stop people from talking constantly about the epidemic and feel relieved.

2) During the pandemic, there must have been some moments when I was anxious about it. For example, when the number of coronavirus cases was rising significantly, or when someone close to me was tested positive for COVID-19, I freaked out easily. To illustrate, I always felt like I was infected with coronavirus even when I was only coughing a bit. In these moments, I would try to calm myself down and pay close attention to my health condition for some more days before making any actions.

It also suggested that people can try different relaxation techniques like deep breathing or belly breathing to calm yourself down.
2)I haven't experienced anxiety regarding to the pandemic this year, but I do think that doodling helps. You can draw anything and it can completely make you forget about anything as you are concentrated in your own world.

I experienced anxiety regarding to the pandemic of course! Everyday I was like: will xx get infected? I met her 3days ago! / Uhoh today I got a running nose, am I affected? / xxx country have locked down already, will it happened to Hong Kong.......So many worries that my head nearly exploded. Then I tried to hypnosis myself that it won't be my turn to have infected covid-19. That doesn't work. Later I tried to do other things in order to forget these worries, for example play LoL(shown in the picture above) or listen to music(I love electronic music very much). It helped a little bit but it doesn't work as I have expected. At last, I talked to my sister and asked her whether we have a high rate to get infected, she answered we had already done many precautions such as sanitize the utensils while we had dinner outside and we always had our mask on. So the possibility of getting infected is quit small. It is a weight out of my head! I'm not sure whether it works on others but at least voicing out your concerns can relieve your mind. Others can share your burden, you don't need to carry it yourself.
