I think for success to happen in schools, we need to get back to some basics with education. We are expecting our students to learn when their diets and sleep hygiene are generally poor and screen use is out of control, all affecting brain function.

Considering all the struggles in schools that teachers have with trying to teach disengaged and emotionally dysregulated students, educating parents about screen use and providing recommendations for what is appropriate use should be a taught often, utilizing various methods of communication. This education should start in preschool.
