The 7th division was one of these, they were reactivated on June 4, 1999 one last time to help with a protest that was going on in Los Angeles. The 7th Infantry Division was both national and regional as well as most of their territories were located overseas and  in the U.S. as well. Because of this they were more spread out and divided as a division.
