George Helm was a big step in Hawaiian history, he helped us to believe that we can stand up for what we believe in instead of just accepting things the way they are. Growing up and learning about Kahoʻolawe was always heartbreaking for me because I just did not understand why someone would force someone out of their land so that they could use it for their personal problems that did not include us.
