Peer pressure, an invisible subject of concern, is a double-edged sword. Peer pressure, to some people, it may bring some positive outcomes such as a healthy competitive environment, positive self-improvement or higher productivity, but on the other hand, it may also terribly affect innumerable people, especially the young. This essay will examine two primary effects of this issue and also suggest two corresponding solutions.

The most recognizable effect of peer pressure is a concerning increase in anxiety, depression, or even suicidal behaviour. Negative peer pressure sufferers at school tend to force themselves to work twice to three times as much as others in order to catch up with the whole. Therefore, they are likely to be overloaded, and the fear of being left behind would gradually thrive on them until victims cannot hold it anymore, the thought of committing suicide might possibly emerge. There are numerous tragic cases in which juvenile peer pressure sufferers committed suicide, for instance, a sixth-grade boy ended his life by jumping off a 22-storey building (Goldmark City, Hanoi) since he failed his test. Furthermore, social stress may also engender family and friend distance. There was once a popular heartbreaking situation in Vietnam when a ninth-grade boy did not talked to his dad and as he was being put under great pressure by his dad and exams before, he left a letter and suddenly jumped off the building in his dad’s desperation. Hence, suffering from great social pressure can be a fatal menace to the victims and urgently needs practical solutions.

Although peer pressure seems to be a dreadful issue, it still has some solutions. The most recommended one for young individuals is to pay full attention to their own feelings. If there is anything that does not feel right, one should take a break and rearrange their emotions. Moreover, finding a therapist, whether it be a friend, parent, or a professional therapist, may remarkably improve one’s mental illness. When sufferers have the chance to vent their feelings and are soothed by somebody, they will undoubtedly feel much more relieved and comfortable.

Generally speaking, suffering from immense peer pressure poses an alarming threat to the victims’ mental health and social connection and should be dealt with by paying attention to their feelings and seeking a emotional supporter.

Recently, a Hanoi motel blaze took the lives of 14 inhabitants, 11 people were injured in the serial accidents in Ho Chi Minh, and even more horrendously, a Hanoi apartment blaze led to the terrible loss of 56 residents. All those listed above are Vietnam’s fires and accidents that have considerably taken away numerous lives and left thousands heavily injured. injured. Fires as well as accidents are rapidly increasing in Vietnam for abundant reasons. This essay will center on several causes of those detrimental disasters.

Firstly, system and electrical equipment inconsistencies account for a large number of fire incidents in Vietnam. The reason for this is that humans cannot fully guarantee that electrical equipment will always kept under control. Once an electrical accident occurs, it tends to get out of hand easily and the flames can spread at breakneck speed. To illustrate, one of the most burning issues in Vietnam in 2023 was the tragic fire in a mini apartment, taking away 56 souls and the reason behind it was an electrical failure at the motorbike charging area. The fire then spread so rapidly to other electrical equipment that, firefighters could not control the flames. Another significant reason for the named emergencies is human carelessness. Negligence in charging mobiles, smoking in a closed area, burning Joss paper , all can lead to a fire. For instance, the fire in Thanh Tri, Hanoi was caused by a charging failure. Although the fire was enormous, all people had luckily escaped.

There are several factors that lead to the high number of accidents, namely concentration loss when driving, driving under the influence of alcohol, but most result from high-speed driving. The National Traffic Safety Committee in Vietnam has reported more than 3 million cases of violating traffic safety laws of which more than 660 thousand cases involved driving over the posted speed limit. All in all, the rapid growth of accidents and fires was caused by several factors.

After thoroughly considering the reasons behind this phenomenon, I am fully aware that as a citizen, it is vital that everyone should rigorously obey the law in order to decrease the mortality rate and raise our living standards.

Books and movies both are means of entertainment highly preferred by numerous people. They both serve the same purpose, which is to illustrate a story, but in different ways. The aim of essay is to point out the differences between book reading and movie watching.

Although movies and books represent the same plot, characters and backgrounds, people tend to prefer movie watching as it does not require as much effort as book reading. When reading a book, readers have to be highly focused on every single word in order to fully understand what the writer originally aims at, and they also need to spend enough time to read one. In contrast, movie watching is much more effortless as films feature vivid visuals, helping viewers to make sense of the story more smoothly. Movies can also be conveniently watched since the emergence of technology.

Another significant contrast is that, in books, writers describe everything in words whereas movies use images. Movies entertain viewers with lively images and different soundtracks, realistically showcasing the characters’s emotions and expressions, which fascinate watchers become fascinated to continue watching. On the other hand, authors use specific vocabulary in their creations with the aim of triggering the readers’ imagination. Publications often illustrate a character more explicitly than films do and, they often provide deeper insight into one’s characteristics as the authors do not have a time limit as directors in films.

Lastly, reading books appears to be much healthier. Since the advent of modern technologies, people spend more and more time sticking their eyes to the screen, which might possibly lead to various health problems. In contrast, reading books is a healthful activity because it can put someone in a relaxed mood and advoid eyes strain instead of spending hours watching movies.

Overall, despite movies and books being the same format of presenting stories, they uniquely differ from each other in some aspects like people’s preferences, presentation, and health facets.
