- Dogs are the only animal that seeks eye contact like humans
- Simply stroking a dog, cat, rabbit or even horse can lead to lower blood pressure and can combat stress
- They can be friends to those who do not easily understand the world around them. Autistic children for instance can be guided gently from their closed, confusing and isolated worlds by a patient and loving dog or cat. Anxiety disorders and depression also can be eased by the loving presence of a pet.
- Canines have the unique ability to pick up on how we are feeling according to various studies, and similar research is being carried out with cats. 
-Researchers discovered that happy sounds in particular light up the auditory cortex in both people and dogs. This strengthens the argument that humans and canines have a uniquely strong and resilient bond.
-They are instead seeing companion animals increasingly as loving, sentient creatures that, as even science has proven, truly love us. 
-Our pets deserve human-grade food, a warm and safe place to rest, plenty of exercise and our unconditional love and attention.

We took my dog buster along because he was getting a little chubby. We had made a lap around the soccer and turned our way onto San Eljay Ave when another dog started to chase after Buster. My dog bolted off, we ran after them but we lost him in a matter of seconds. My Dad and I looked around for a couple of hours until we came home saddened by the event that had just taken place. When we walked up to our front door we saw our dog sitting on the door mat waiting for us to come home. We think of dogs as the closest to humans, we give them human food, treat them like humans, and love them like humans. If we did not have pets in this generation, it would be a depression outbreak because of how much stress pets relieve to us.
Pets with fur in general are the best for stress relieving because of the feeling we get when we stroke their fur.
