How has your perspective on faith changed over the course of the semester?

I have always thought myself lucky, however during the course of this semester, by hearing my classmates' stories, I realized just how lucky I truly am. I don't have a mother who is fighting cancer, or a father who died when I was little. This class has taught me to cherish every single moment with my family, because everything can change in a split second. My faith has changed because before I came to FSHA, and expanded the bubble I live in, I started to see real difficulty and loss. I now see that God puts you through tough situations to make you stronger. The attached song, "Count on Me", tell the listener that no matter what, they will always support them. This song relates to my essential truth because no matter the circumstance, family can count on each other to always be there.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZMsvwwp6S7Q

How do you feel that you’ve grown personally over the course of the semester? What have you learned about yourself?

Over the course of this first semester I have learned what I cherish most (the exercise where we had to throw everything away until we had our most important person, thing, feeling, or place left), how to connect to people on a deeper level, and how to empathize. I have learned that when I connect with someone, I deeply feel what they are feeling. I find it extremely hard to see friends struggle. When I do see a friend having a hard time, I make an effort to spend time with them, and just be there to listen. The attached song depicts the first few weeks of FSHA, and the immediate connection I felt with some of my best friends.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=18&v=PKfD8d3XJok
The attached video is one I have shown in class before, however it just shows all the joy and happiness I have felt here.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_1IlE0km2w
As with the audio of that video, I have always loved to sing, however I have learned that it touches you even more deeply when you sing with close friends and you share your love of something with someone else.

I feel like my ability to empathize deeply with people will be highly impactful if i decide to become a therapist or some job that has contact with other people. Thinking about things I can do right now, I can help those that are less fortunate give their families a happy Christmas. The love and hope I feel for others will help me in looking towards a better future, possibly in the environment or a company.
