Students can independently use iReady reading, math, and/or Prodigy in independent work blocks. I see every student for 25 minutes a day in both reading and math, and then a block of whole group time for calendar, weather, and news. This past week is the first week since starting remote instruction that all students were on for whole group instruction! I do group instruction for morning work/calendar and then assign individual work to students for them to complete during the day. We meet again in the afternoon for a comprehension activity. Then they have specials. The families I work with have a very hard time getting most of my students to complete work at home. I send home work materials and I am available whenever they need me during the day. I kept it pretty simple initially with showing short instructional videos and having discussions to reinforce some instruction on math and reading concepts we were working on the classroom. Last week, I was able to use breakout rooms to meet individually with students in small groups to discuss a writing assignment. I was also able to do a math game with students using Google slides and some other students were able to complete a live worksheet with math problems and submit it.
