I think “Wonder” was a fantastic title. It related to the story perfectly because the author always had the reader wondering what was going to happen next. Also R.J Palacio always left cliffhangers and conflicts that made the reader want to read more and more. One conflict is when August overhears Jack Will talking bad about him (76). This is how the title "Wonder" fits so perfectly into the story.

In the novel, “Wonder” by R.J Palacio the setting impacts the development of the character August. August’s home setting is in New York. Living in New York impacts August because New York has a very big population. Thousands of faces are staring at him each day which made him start to were an astronaut helmet. “So when me and mom arrived at Beecher Prep…. I saw Mr. Tushman standing there (15). This also impacts August because he is going to school which he has never done before. These are the two setting that impacted August’ life the most throughout the novel.

August Pullman, the main character of the novel “Wonder” has many character traits. One character trait is strong. Auggie is strong at the nature retreat because a character named Eddie kept calling Auggie mean names like, “Freddie Kruger” and ”Ugly freak” (266). After he was called those names he didn’t take it to offense. Another character trait is brave. This supports my claim because he knew hundreds of faces are going to be staring at him but he still went to school anyway (35). To conclude, these are two important character traits that you should know about the main character August Pullman.

This story is told in 1st person point of view because the characters were telling the story. This helped me understand what the characters were always thinking and feeling. I loved reading from the different point of views because I got to learn each characters personalities, so when that character shows up in someone else’s point of view I might know how they will react to something. This is why I liked reading from the different point of views.

Amos is brave because on page on page 268 he rammed into this mean character named Eddie to protect August. One final trait for Amos is Talkative. What I mean by this is after he rammed into Eddie he told everybody. These are two character traits that describe August’s friend Amos.

There are many themes you can learn from in this realistic fiction called “Wonder” by R.J Palacio. In the novel “Wonder” August Pullman has a face deformity called Mandibulofacial dyotosis. Therefore, my theme is treat others the way you want to be treated. Also on page 136 August and his parents went to carvel and a boy got scared of him and screamed. To conclude, this is one important theme in the novel “Wonder”.

In “Wonder” there are many themes that can describe the main character August Pullman. It wasn’t fair that people are mean to August even though he’s just like everyone else (76). Therefore my theme is everyone’s different. To conclude, this is 1 important Theme about August Pullman.

At the end of the novel August won the Beecher prep award given by Mr. Tushman. I liked the ending but i didn't find it amazing because it got boring when summer and Jack went to Auggies house for ice cream and cake. If i could change the ending i would change anything in the ending i would add a major plot twist when Auggie eats a weird nut in his ice cream and has to be rushed to the emergency room. To conclude, this is how i would end the novel "Wonder".

I would rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. Everything about this book is amazing. In the novel Wonder August has a facial deformity and gets jerked around about it. The author tried to present a theme called treat others the way you want to be treated. One of R.j palacios strengths is the ability to leave cliff hangers. In my opinion i loved this book. I would recommend this book for ages 9-12. Also i would definitely recommend this book to others.
