She decided to run away with Lysander in the woods to marry.</em></strong></p><p><br/></p><p><strong><em>In Act 2, she and Lysander fall asleep after she refuses to sleep next to him. While she sleeps, Lysander leaves her, comparing her to candy and junk food.</em></strong></p><p><br/></p><p><strong><em>In Act 3, Hermia accuses Demetrius of murdering Lysander. She runs off and comes back to see Lysander and Demetrius fighting over Helena.          <description><![CDATA[<p><strong><em>ɪɴꜰᴏ:</em></strong></p><p><strong><em>He is Hermia's lover and the one that Egeus doesn't want her to marry. He persuades Hermia to run away with her so that they can marry without Athenian law.</em></strong></p><p><br></p><p><strong><em>During Act 2, Lysander and Hermia are traversing the woods, and when they stop to sleep, he tries to sleep next to her. At first, he is very persuasive, but then Hermia tells him to sleep farther away. While he is sleeping, Puck mistakes him as Demetrius, and he puts the love spell on him. He wakes up, falls in love with Helena, and compares Hermia to junk food.</em></strong></p><p><br></p><p><strong><em>He is now following Helena, and when Demetrius wakes up under the spell, they fight over her. When Hermia sees them, he belittles her  and says they were never in love.</em></strong></p><p><br></p><p><strong><em>In the end, the love spell on him gets reversed and he marries Hermia.</em></strong></p><p><br></p><p><strong><em>Qᴜᴏᴛᴇꜱ:</em></strong></p><p><strong><em>"Ay me! for aught that I could ever read, / Could ever hear by tale or history, / The course of true love never did run smooth;" (1.1.136-138).</em></strong></p><p><br></p><p><strong><em>"I mean, that my heart unto yours is knit, / So that but one heart we can make of it; / Two bosoms interchained with an oath, / So then two bosoms and a single troth."          <description><![CDATA[<p><strong><em>ɪɴꜰᴏ:</em></strong></p><p><strong><em>The man who is in love with Hermia, and is the suitor who is in the favor of Egeus, her father. Out of jealousy, Helena tells him about the other couple's plans.</em></strong></p><p><br/></p><p><strong><em>Demetrius, followed by Helena, treks out into the woods where he rejects Helena, who insists on being with him.</em></strong></p><p><br/></p><p><strong><em>After Lysander left her, Hermia follows Demetrius and accused him of murdering Lysander, which he denies.  He falls asleep and Puck places a love spell on him. He wakes up and falls in love with Helena. He fights and chases Lysander to be with Helena. </em></strong></p><p><br/></p><p><strong><em>Once he wakes up, he is the only one that is not reversed so he is still in love with Helena against his will.  He compares him falling out of love with Hermia to sweets (like Lysander), and compares Helena's love to a salad- healthy and reasonable.</em></strong></p><p><br/></p><p><strong><em>In the end, he is still under the effects of the love potion and marries Helena.</em></strong></p><p><br/></p><p><strong><em>Qᴜᴏᴛᴇꜱ:</em></strong></p><p><strong><em>"I love thee not, so pursue me not." She is jealous of Hermia so she tells Demetrius of the couple's plans. </em></strong></p><p><br/></p><p><strong><em>She follows Demetrus, but he keeps rejecting her. She says to treat her like his dog, because the more he spurns her, the more she loves him. She wakes up Lysander, unaware he is under the love spell and he falls in love with her.</em></strong></p><p><br/></p><p><strong><em>She now mirrors Demetrius by rejecting Lysander, who keeps following her. Demetrius wakes up and falls in love  with her. He defeated Hippolyta to gain her hand in marriage.</p><p><br/></p><p>On a hunting trip with Hippolyta, he stumbles upon the lovers in the forest and sees that their situation was resolved. He overbears Egeus's will and lets them get married at his wedding.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong><em>Qᴜᴏᴛᴇꜱ:</em></strong></p><p>"Hippolyta, I woo'd thee with my sword, / And won thy love doing thee injuries; / But I will wed thee in another key, / With pomp, with triumph, and with reveling." (1.1.17-20)</p><p><br/></p><p>"Lovers and madmen have such seething brains, / Such shaping fantasies, that apprehend / More than cool reason ever comprehends. / The lunatic, the lover, and the poet, / Are of imagination all compact." She was defeated by Theseus and is now forced to marry him in 4 days.</p><p><br/></p><p>By the time they find the lovers and get married, it seems that she has come around to the idea of marriage. She doesn't seem to detest him as much, but instead is playful.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong><em>Qᴜᴏᴛᴇꜱ:</em></strong></p><p><strong><em>"</em></strong>Four days will quickly steep themselves in night; / Four nights will quickly dream away the time; / And then the moon, like to a silver bow / New-bent in heaven, shall behold the night / Of our solemnities."          <description><![CDATA[<p><strong><em>ɪɴꜰᴏ:</em></strong></p><p><strong><em>The king of the fairies and husband to Titania. He wants to turn the changeling boy into one of his soldiers, but is ultimately jealous of him getting all of Titania's attention. Titania refuses to give him up so they feud, causing chaos on the natural world back in the mortal realm. To enact revenge, he tells Puck to get a love potion so he can put it on Titania. As he waits, he sees Helena pining for and following Demetrius. When Puck returns, he tells Puck to give the love potion the 'Athenian man.' He puts the love potion in Titania's eyes when she is sleeping, forcing her to become enamored with the first thing she'll see when she wakes up.</em></strong></p><p><br/></p><p><strong><em>Seeing Lysander following Helena, he disocvers that Puck had mixed up the two Athenian men. He makes a plan to reverse the trickery and tells Puck to get them tired so they can give the antidote to Lysander.</em></strong></p><p><br/></p><p><strong><em>Qᴜᴏᴛᴇꜱ:</em></strong></p><p><strong><em>"Fare thee well, nymph; ere he do leave this grove, / Thou shalt fly him, and he shall seek thy love." (2.1.248-249)</em></strong></p><p><br/></p><p><strong><em>"What hast thou done? Thou hast mistaken quite, / And laid the love-juice on some true-love's sight. / Of thy misprison must perforce ensue / Some true love turn'd, and not a false turn'd true." She grants him immortality and sleeps with him.</em></p><p><br></p><p><em>While she is under the spell, she gives up the changeling boy. He mistakes Lysander for Demetrius, causing Lysander to fall in love with Helena.</em></strong></p><p><br/></p><p><strong><em> In Act 3, Puck sees the Rude Mechanicals rehearsing a play and turns Nick Bottom into a donkey. He is ultimately casted as Pyramus.</em></strong></p><p><br/></p><p><strong><em>In Act 3, he is rehearsing in the forest with the other actors. When he is off screen, he gets turned into a donkey by Puck. The other actors see him and run away screaming, but he thinks that they are pulling his leg by pranking him. While he is singing a song to show he's not effected by the prank, Titania wakes up and, since she is under the spell, falls in love with him. </em></strong></p><p><br/></p><p><strong><em>He seems to be living the fairy realm life to the fullest by having the other fairies attend to him and get him things. When he and Titania fall asleep, Titania's spell reverses  and she falls out of love with him. When he wakes up, he believes that it was all a dream.</em></strong></p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p><strong><em>Qᴜᴏᴛᴇꜱ:</em></strong></p><p><strong><em>"Methinks, mistress, you should have little reason for that. / And yet, to say the truth, reason and love keep little company together now-a-days."
