He's been  building batteries, generators and transmmiters since he was 13 years old, when he built his own radio station  and invented a name for him in the  radio: DJ Focus.
His fame really "skyrocketed" when he took part in a local Youth-Oriented innovation challenge organized by David Sengeh, a PH.D student at the M.I.T media lab. In May 2013 Doe developed a project to provide wifi to Sierra Leone.
Today, Kelvin Doe is one of the most respected young African inventors, and he is also able to speak to young people in Africa through different digital plataforms.
