Pylori is a nasty little bug, as most pathogens tend to be.  As slide #2 demonstrates, H.Pylori is a Gram-negative spiral shaped bacteria with 4-6 flagella.  It normally is found within stomach of humans and according to the CDC it infects two-thirds of the world's population.  It accounts for 80%-90% of duodenal and gastric ulcers and has been known to cause stomach cancer.  However, the majority of victims are asymptomatic and have no symptoms.  Some of the symptoms that do occur are shown in slide #5 and include nausea, vomiting, fatigue, bloating, blood in vomit or stool, and stomach pain.  As of this time, it is not known have the infection is spread exactly but is believed to be spread oral-oral and oral-fecal routes. This hand-washing is vital to prevent future outbreaks.
