We need to address the PDs that just sort of fade away. A few years ago, EVERYTHING was drilling because, but, so ; appositives; and other Writing Revolution exercises and practices were everything, but now they are hardly used. What becomes of these ghosts that are wandering the halls of academe? Should we be retiring them? Holding a service for them and burying them? We have no closure on what was once considered of paramount importance. Is this simply what's hot at the moment? Has good teacherly practice become as ephemeral as the fashions we wear? . . . the food we eat?
