how did the British empire became so powerful?

The British of Empire was the largest empire in history. From the middle
of 16th century until the War of Independence in 1776, Britain had
empire covered more than 33,700,000 km2, almost a quarter of the Earth's total land area and held sway over about 458 million
people, one-fifth of the world's population at the time.
As a result, the policies which the British government used in order to gain control over these states were strategic. Interestingly, many of the colonies were originally founded by private companies/personalities with Royal Charter. It is well known India was established by the East India Company

The power of admiralty cannot be understated as a factor which caused the British Empire to expand, and consequently to become more powerful. The British navy was very strong, ahead of all its competitors. The British controlled the High Seas and were able to monopolize trade routes between Europe and the Far East.

Unity was another factor which held the British Empire together. The Empire was incredibly racially and religiously diverse. However, throughout the New World Britain managed to introduce some very positive changes into the standard of living of millions of people. Britain introduced their Westminster style of government, their common law (arguably the greatest gift of all) and numerous other seemingly inconsequential things (like the sport cricket for example). These unifying traditions helped to bind the Empire together.

The final reason behind the strength of the British Empire was pride. Pride in theEmpire, pride in nation building, pride in the dissemination of Anglo-Saxonvalues.

By Armin

how did the British empire fall?

The start of a new area, when the empire was at the top they always
wanted more so they decided to take India witch they did but it didn’t last
very long. The Indian empire tried to take their country back from Brittan but
the British Empire was determent to win the “revolution”. To fight back the
Indian people they created one of the most famous weapons in the world the
machine-gun, it was able to fire fast and for a long time from a distant witch
would make it almost impossible for ground soldiers to win ground. When the
British soldiers got the new gun they used it to all the attacks in India and
they won.

The British Empire started a massive slaughter and showed no mercy but
then the Indian people had had enough they started to kill many of the British
officers and burn building that they had taken. The Indian people had massive
losses and it was close that they lost but one thing that the British Empire made
wrong was to send most of their army to India. They left parts of their Empire
almost ungraded and people in the colonies took their chance, the revolved to
the Empire and they won, colony after colony was lost to the people that used
to own it and the Empire became weaker and weaker. At the end of Britain’s
golden age every colony that they take had been lost and the Empire was no
longer as powerful as it once was.

By Jonathan P
