One concern is on alternative testing methods that schools will use to replace the mid-year exams. If teachers of each subject discipline create mini-tests to measure student performance, it will create more stress for students and parents. Another concern is addressing parents' worry over their children's performance at the end-of-year examinations with the removal of mid-year assessments. It is important that school leaders communicate 1) the intent behind the removal of mid-year assessments clearly and 2) the measures taken by the schools to replace mid-year assessments of learning to re-assure students and parents.
