If you’re interested in history, medicine or music and looking for a new friend. Who also has an interesting personality. You don’t have to look further than Lugo, Italy.

Meet Chiara, my e-twinning partner who lives in Lugo, Italy. She has a cat called Betty, a Siamese cat, whose name is from the Taylor Swift’s album “Folklore”. Chiara likes to go for jogs to stay fit and has some therapeutical value, and her afternoons are often spent studying. In her free time, she enjoys going out with her friends, reading and watching TV.

Chiara has been on some fascinating trips. She has recently visited Berlin with her family, and she went on a school trip to Poland, where she learned about Kraków's history and visited the concentration camp complex of Auschwitz-Birkenau. She has interest in history, partly because of a great history teacher and she enjoys learning about modern historical topics in her spare time.

Chiara's future goal is to study medicine in English, by taking the Cambridge entry test.

In short, she's a hardworking student who loves to learn and has a bunch of different interests and experiences to tell.

Coming from Kazakhstan’s origins, he now lives with his family in Belgium where he used to do judo and now plays football as a semi-professional. 

A small part of Italy runs in his blood after having named Cannavaro, Maldini, and Buffon as his dream team.

When he has some free time he goes to the gym and he goes out with his friends, just like a regular teenager. 

Alikhan had time to explore his passion for history and geography this summer, during his trip to Croatia and his interrail through Europe with some friends; from Bruxelles to Munich and then back to Bruxelles he deepened his knowledge about Berlin East and West and a lot more.

He now works, when possible, as a waiter in a restaurant, hoping to raise enough money to plan another trip; who knows maybe he’ll visit Italy!

He also likes listening to music and I have to admit that he has nice tastes: he listens to everything but the music he likes the most is rap. His favorite singer is Post Malone: he loves how genuine he is.

As if that wasn’t enough, he is also a sports person: some years ago he was in the national judo team! Unfortunately he had a knee problem so he had to stop. Maybe he could have become a big champion?

His family’ s story is very interesting too: he has Irish origins but his grandparents moved to Belgium.

I would have bet that he had Irish origins because the first time that I saw him I was amazed by his red hair (I love it)

He is a very determined person and when he grows up he would like to study physics or chemistry. One day we will probably find him working in some lab. This is one of his biggest dreams and he would like to innovate science and to contribute to scientific progress.

Obviously there would be other things to say about Thibo, but here are the main ones, and I think they’ re enough to understand his personality and his dreams.

As you can understand, Dimi can be referred to as  a “cat-lover”. He likes to apply stickers of them on his electric guitar that he has been playing for almost three years now. 

Dimi’s passion for music really is inspiring and we were lucky enough to be “serenaded” with a Jimi Hendrix’s riff. 

He is into every genre of music, from pop to rock, except for country. We would say music plays a major role in his life. 

Another fact about Dimi is that his family isn’t entirely Belgian, his mother’s side is actually from Ukraine. He had his grandmother and cousins there but due to the delicate situation in which Ukraine is right now, they managed to fly to Belgium and reach Dimi’s rest of the family. 

Speaking of traveling, Dimi visited England this summer and had the occasion to finally meet up with his long distance friend Kyle, together they visited York and Newcastle.

But his desire to travel and see the world doesn't end here! He plans on going on another trip with Kyle, but this time outside Belgium and England… we’ll see where they'll end up going! 

The first thing that impressed me was her passion and extreme dedication to music: she has been playing the flute since she was seven, and later she learned how to play the piano too. As if this wasn’t enough, she has been in an orchestra for four years now. 

Besides music, she is also in a Catholic youth movement, called +13, in which the people there come together for various activities like quizzes or laser shooting.

She also  knows how to play badminton, but she stopped playing three years ago due to time management problems. 

Other than these interesting activities she’s also into nature: she lives on a farm, has four cats and if you ask her to choose between big cities or a normal countryside, she would choose the second option with her eyes closed. 

Although she doesn’t like working on her family’s farm, she does love studying biology. In fact, after high school, she is planning to go to med school. 

So, besides taking her driving license and liking watching movies like every other teenager, she is very unique. I think I’ve never met someone as interested in different things as her!
