Equity- "Is giving everyone what they need to be successful." "Equality is giving everyone a shoe. Equity is giving everyone a shoe that fits."

Social class- "A division of a society based on social (King, farmer, CEO, fisherman) and economic status (money)."

Gender- " A person’s internal sense of self as male, female, both or neither (gender identity), as well as one’s outward presentation and behaviors (gender expression)(Gender Expression: The external manifestations of gender, expressed through such things as names, pronouns, clothing, haircuts, behavior, voice, body characteristics, and more.)."

Sexual Orientation- "The desire one has for emotional, romantic, and/or sexual relationships with others based on their gender expression, gender identity, and/or sex. Many people choose to label their sexual orientation, while others do not."

Social Justice- "Justice applied in terms of the distribution of wealth, opportunities, and privileges within a society.  Social Justice is based on the concept of Human Rights and equality.  Social Justice tries to make things reasonably fair."

Race- "Is a political or social construct, categorizing people on physical differences."

Racism- "Discrimination, prejudice, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one's own race is superior. It is also the belief that each race has different characteristics and such which means that the races would have the potential to be superior or inferior."

Institutional racism- "A system of legalized practices designed to keep the dominant group in power.  The one who is in power making and/or enforcing racism so that they stay in power."

Systemic racism-  "Racism that infects the very structure of our society.  Systemic racism is less about violence than it is about everyday decisions made by people who may not even think of themselves as racist."

Diversity- "Means understanding that each individual is unique, and recognizing our individual differences.
