Now Jordan Peterson, personally one of my favorite philosophers of today's age, wrote this book in order to entertain and show his reading audience how to cope with the excessive chaos of today's modern society. The book teaches the reader how to find all the little joys that are capable within this cruel state of the world. WIthin this little project I will and have dicuss the six most important rules in my opinion to take from this book.

Confidence (Rule #1)

Confidence in a person's life will determine the outcome of said life. Jordan Peterson explains this with his first rule-
"Stand up straight with your shoulders back"

Implementing this within your own life affects both your mental state and your current position in society. With the display of said confidence, you assume the body language of the best of the best. Life is a competition, if you do not believe in yourself, success will always slip away.

Take Action (Rule #2)

Many studies show that humans in day-to-day life usually will choose choices that will benefit others, without benefiting themselves. Though this may sound cruel, in order to become a respectable person, a man or woman needs to focus on themselves, treating themselves without treating others. This in a way is harsh, but in order to give back to the public, selfishness is needed.
As Jordan Peterson states with his second rule-
"Treat yourself like someone you are responsible for helping"

This itself may sound confusing to some, but this means that you should treat yourself and your own life like you were helping someone else. Once again that may sound weird to the audience, but factually ordain people treat others better than they treat themselves. A man needs to put himself before others, in order to put others before him.

Self Imagining (Rule #4)

To compare yourself to someone you are not is foolish, yet we still allow ourselves and our peers to indulge in this activity. Jordan Peterson explains this to us in his fourth rule-
"Compare yourself to who you were yesterday, not to who someone else is today"
Money is not made by looking at the rich man, but by looking at the poor man who wants to be rich. If you keep comparing your own status, whether it be in looks, wealth, strength, etc, to other people's statuses, you will fail in said subjects 99.9% of the time.

A Clear Mind (Rule #6)

Who would you think would have a better and cleaner mental state? A man would have his household cluttered and unorganized or a man who keeps his household clean and priorities straight. Jordan Peterson correlates these two feats in his sixth rule-
"Set your house in perfect order before you criticize the world"

As my dad has always told me, "If you are in stressed situations within your own life, clean your room". Though once again this does not sound like much, a man who keeps his area clean can take on the world. A disorganized man will not have a place the escape the ruthless world when his own house is cluttered in both thoughts and grim.

Purpose (Rule #7)

A self-improvement teacher, by the undergoing name of "Hamza" taught and claimed that a person with a bad purpose not suited for them was just as bad as a person without one.
Peterson himself remarks on these claims in his seventh rule-
"Pursue what is meaningful (not what is expedient)"
To sit and stare at a wall for hours on end questioning life itself and how to proceed is more beneficial than claiming instant gratification. In order for a person to move forward in the game of life, people need to find their own purpose, whether it would be to achieve a certain job, economic status, physique, etc.

Enjoyment (Rule #12)

Though the previous rules, stated and unstated, were very important and should be included within your own life, this rule seems to be my favorite. As Jordan Peterson says himself-
"Pet a cat when you encounter one on the street"
Like many, this may be confusing for those who do not comprehend the phrase, but this itself means to enjoy life and its wonders. We take so much time focusing on the horrid actions of this world, that we forget to look at the little things that matter. "Petting the Cat" is just a another way of say to enjoy what life has to offer, doesn't matter big nor small, we should take time to appreciate the good things within ourselves and society.
