Once on the planet, they could build inhabitable homes with oxygen made by the plants that they'll grow, and hide from radiation by living underground. Built-in heaters could perhaps sustain them by keeping them warm.
 It won't be as comfortable as Earth, but it'll be a tremendous step for mankind.
