FRANKENSTEIN - Paradise Lost impacts the creatures perspective of Victor by referring to him as Creator rather than a parent figure.
Rime of the Ancient Mariner which has doubles in relation to Frankenstein by his continuation of punishment to Victor.
Prometheus in relation to Frankensteins isolation from the monsters after the taking of motherhood BUT could also similarly link to the Handmaids Tale which Offreds similar narrative of punishment and constant repetition.
THE HANDMAIDS TALE - Magazines given to Offred by the commander which affects the narrative as Offred becomes more sexually aware of herself (worried about shaving her legs).

AO1-Mise en abyme in Frankenstein.
Offreds narrative is from a male perspective.
AO2-All narratives in Frankenstein are spoken by a man suggesting that motherhood is dead and showing the phallogecentric nature of the book.
In Handmaids Tale, narrative is from a female narrator but a still provides a phallogecentric perspective on the novel even though Offred sees men as the dominant sex and this scares her.
AO3-when men went to war women took their jobs to maintain harmony but when men came back, women were oppressed just like Offred is forced into oppression and much like the non existent female narrator as they can't have power almost.
AO4-both narratives are from a male perspective showing the phallogecentric nature of the world they are living in.
