         <description><![CDATA[<div><br>In 1936 Roger Williams founded Rhode Island in settlement for religious and political freedom. Roger was treated badly and was forced to leave Massachusetts due to his religion which made him purchased land from the Narragansett Indians. Some of the Important leaders of Rhode island are Anne Hutchinson a religious leader and Oliver Hazard Perry a Naval Officer. Rhode Island became a Charter Colony and it was self-governed. The Rhode Island colonists were given a significant deal of freedom within the boundaries, which created the rules of the government.<br>the government grow because it gave residents in Rhode Island the ability to run their own colony and ensured their religious freedom.<br><br>&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><br>Some religious groups that lived in Rhode Island were Baptists and Quakers, after they fled from New England . Rhode Island was also home to other religious groups such as jews and other religious minorities. Rhode Island was the first colony to have religious freedom. Meaning other religious groups could practice their own religion they wanted.<br>Rhode Island became a Safe Place for Colonists who were persecuted for their religions. The colony established religious toleration for all citizens.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><br>The Natural resources of Rhode Island would be seafood such as Fish and whales. They also had timber which they got from dense forests. Since they had poor soil they weren't able to farm wheat but they achieved to raise corn, pumpkins, rye, squash, and beans.<br>The colonists made their living in seaside towns by fishing, whaling, shipbuilding, and shipping. Other parts of Colonial Rhode Island's economy were based on timber, the fur trade, maple syrup, copper, livestock products, horses, rum, whiskey, and beer. On the other side of Rhode Island, the economy was based on timber, fur trade, maple syrup, copper, livestock products, horses, rum, whiskey, and beer.<br>In Rhode island colonists can trade raw materials, including fish, timber, furs, ships, and livestock, including cattle.</div>]]></description>

The soil was very poor and rocky that made it difficult to farm and crop.<br>Rhode Island was classified as one of the New England colonies.<br>Some Economic advantages Rhode Island had were agriculture, mining, forestry, and fishing.<br>Rhode Island's economy diversified, and it became the only New England colony to establish plantation-style slave societies within its borders.</div>]]></description>

The first Slaves Rhode island had were American Slaves.<br><br>Some Important Figures in Rhode Island&nbsp; are&nbsp; John brown -He was a Rhode Island-born American merchant, enslaver, slave trader, and statesman.<br>Nicholas Brown -He was a slave trader, merchant, civic leader, and co-signer of the College of Rhode Island's charter in 1763.<br>James manning-He was a Providence, Rhode Island-born American Baptist minister, educator, and legislator.<br><br><br></div>]]></description>
