The international space station (ISS) is the biggest and greatest space laboratory in the world. The first modules of the station were launched in 1998, and the last one arrived in 2011. As it says in its name, the ISS is owned by multiple space agencies from different countries, for example NASA from the US or ESA from the EU. The dimensions of the space station are enormous, it has 190 meters length and 73 width. It has the same volume as two Boeing 737 (very very big planes), it weighs 4 tons and it has an average speed of around 28000 kilometers per hour or 8 kilometers each second. These incredible dimensions and speed causes the structure to support a huge charge due to the G force. To resist these forces, the ISS is built with aluminium reinforced with titanium and kevlar to resist the impacts. The main structure is a central bar that supports different space modules with different pourposes.

NICO RICO MENEU
