1. Elisa/Isabel: Done
2. Elisa: The poem connects to the theme of the noose, because, there they were disrespected by their race. How? Because they were asked to move to a new "town", like if you were white you stayed there if you were coloured you moved father and if you were black you moved even father. While in this poem it said that he was stopped every once in a while to check and to see that he actually "existed". So, yes the both have the same theme, but are described in different ways.
3. Elisa: Were not totally sure but, we think that there are two irony's in this poem which are really connected so you could say one. One of them could be, when the author writes, "Ha! Ha! I know who you are; beneath those fine cloths it tacks the heart of a thief!" The second one is, this person thinks that only because of his race he is a thief, even though he is dressed like a gentleman.

4. Isabel: We think the tone of this poem sounds annoyed and frustrated. We think that because, when he meet's the police men he is angry, annoyed, depressed, and frustrated because how the policemen treat's him differently because of his race, and this is another example of racism.

5. Elisa: At the begging the tone is more of an annoyed because, yeah he was asked to show he "existed" but than when he is asked where he was going and this person said "Ha! Ha! I know who you are; beneath those fine cloths it tacks the heart of a thief!" than that's when we think he get's frustrated, and we guess disrespected too.
6. Isabel: We think this could be a protest poem because of how the man was accused of being a thief and considered apartheid.
7. Isabel: We think the author wrote this poem because he wanted to make a difference and start a protest against racism.

So this shows Discrimination and Racism.
4) the tone of the poem is oppression.
5)the tone changes because in the beginning it started being sweet and then it started being sour And upsetting.
6) And 7)because of his skin color his boss taught he was a thief. This could be considered as a protest poem because the poet wanted to tell the world how bad apartheid and racism is.

1. Done
2. We think this poem relates Apartheid by showing how you needed to carry around a book to show your RACE and how if you were black people would treat you like a criminal.
3. Something ironic is that the man is dressed like a gentleman but is treated like a criminal.
4. We think the tone is annoyed because this guy has to put up with so much disrespect.
5. We believe the tone changes because in the beginning he talks about dressing like a gentleman and is probably happy but later on he is being Oppressed by the white community so he probably feels annoyed.
6. We think this could be a protest poem because it explains why people dont like apartheid showing the clear reasons on why they want to stop apartheid.
7. We think the poet wrote this poem because he was wanting to stop apartheid and make a diffrence.

1. Done
2. We think that this poem connects with the stories because black people had to carry around a paper showing what race they are. This connects with the Noose. And white looked down on them just because of their skin. And this to one day lily.
3. Even if a black people are dressed expensively they are still treated poorly. They Discriminate the black people because of their Race and don't even think twice about it.
4. The tone feels hopeful, bitter, sad and depressed.
5. Yes at the beginning the tone was hopeful then towards the middle he became bitter and at the end he was bitter and sad.
6. Throughout the poem he said how people treated him and how they discriminated even though he did nothing wrong but they still saw him as a thief. so this poem speaks out what is happening and how he was oppressed.
7. The poet wrote this poem to speak out about what is happening and that this behavior towards black people is unacceptable and that it's horrible this is happening. He showed how white supremacy was wrong. He wanted to educate people say that this is not right. Everyone should be treated fairly no matter their race.
8.

1. Done.
2. The poem connects to the stories we are reading, because just like when Caroline thought Uncle Max was a burgular, the woman in the poem also thinks he's a theif. And the poem and the stories connect because they both talk about Aparthied and discrimination.
3. At the time and now at days, people still think Black people are theifs. This shows how the Black community suffers descrimination because of their race.
4. The tone of the poem sounds tierd, bitter, depressing, and a little hopful.
5. At the begining of the poem, he sounds a little more hopeful, but more towards the middle and the end he seems to get tired and sad, like his life is a loop with the same depressing story.
6. The poet is explaining how the Black comminity faced opression by white supremesy.
7. The poet wrote this poem to give us insight of how his life is because of Aparthied and distriminatory behavior towards the Black community. I belive he wanted to shed light on this, and hopefuly educate people and change the world, hopefuly stop white supremacy and racisim.

1-Done
2- (Trevor's part)The poem connects to One day lily one day, in the story it shows how Uncle Max was judged because of and never had freedom, he was accused for being a burglar based off RACE. He lost his job and lost his income, because of the DISCRIMINATION and OPPRESSION times during apartheid.
3- (Trevor's part)In the poem the character's skin color is black, he dresses up in a suit to be treated with respected but based of his skin color people white people think that he is a crook and a really bad person. This continuous around the world today, the black community don't have privilege! And the white community needs to realize that they have privilege and its toxic.
4- (Trevor's part) The tone of the whole story is Happy, Hopeful, Dejected, Regretful and Down hearted.
5- (Trevor's part)In the story the tone in the beginning is happy and excited, but based off his skin color he is not treated equally. When he is walking around the tone of the story turns sad and dark. The voice of the lady not allowing a black person cross the other side was happy, and evil. Her tone showed how hurting a black mans feeling made her day. Nowadays, Your tone of how you speak and treat can get you into consequences.
6- (Trevor's part) In this poem, the author wanted to show you want was a day in the life for a black person. They were sick of how they were treated, now riots and riots are happening all over the U.S. They are sick of it, they warned you. But your a bit too late.
7- (Trevor's part)Again, The author wrote this poem to show the inequalities of the daily life of a black man. We need to change, we need to fight for what's right! We need to make a difference we still have time, now is our chance.
