The Author did not use a strong format, but sometimes the words would be bold and stand out. She(Shafer) also used unique words in her sentences. I noticed that sometimes the end punctuation would be rather different from what I would expect. Over all, the format was what you would usually expect to read in a textbook. Normal.

The plot was quite exiting. The author brought suspense to the my mind. It is quite realistic and there was a chain of events, taking place in chronological order. The plot wasn't to confusing, and everything had a place in the story.

Word Choice

The author did use complicated words, but you could tell what they meant by the context. Some words I didn't understand, and I had to look up. The word's added character to the book, and gave the reader a feel of what was currently going on in the story. I would say the author did quite a good job of word choice.

I think the author used Patience as a steady theme for this book. She (Shafer) used emotions to tell the reader(me) that even though things are going on around you, that you can't understand, it doesn't mean to give up. She gave a steady roll of words and characters coming through the story to make it understandable. Patience was the steady theme for this book

The mood of the story was at first solemn, and then it grew to be mysterious and confusing. The author used these mood's to bring an emotion to the book, to have the reader glued to the story. The mood's added a tone to the story that made it feel like you were there in real life. In conclusion, the author did make an effect to the story with mood.

I thought the author used enough events closest to real life to make this book realistic fiction. It was realistic because of the emotions that weren't always happy. The base of the story took place in a boy's mind filled with confusing thoughts and sad memories. That is why I think the author used realistic fiction as a reasonable genre for this book.
