The Stone Forest was created when the sea retreated to the ocean, then the ground was visible to land. Due to the climate in that area, there was constant rain, wind, and seismic activity. As the rain would hit the group of rocks it would follow the outcropping of the limestone. When this would happen there would be erosion. For 270 million years this would happen. Rivers would form and only the strongest part of the rock would stand. Finally, in the 1950s it opened as a park.

Constructive or Destructive force?

This formation was both a constructive and destructive force. It was constructive because there was a deposition happening during this process. But yet it was also destructive because the seismic activity would break down rock. In addition to that there was erosion, erosion would cause the massive pillars to stand.
