Week 1 Feedback

Well-reflected. Good reasoning is demonstrated in your comparison of jobs and careers.

I am glad to see that you are confident about creating a timeline as you will need one in your first assessment. Selecting an organisation early will enable you to better settle into the assessment streamline your content searches.

Recall that the tasks are the building blocks towards successfully completing your first assessment on the unit. Build upon your efforts.

Feedback from: Ade Olajide

The organisation Ramona has chosen for the factfile is meeting the requirements, is intriguing and from a different area so all colleagues will have a different sector to work on

Feedback from Mihaela-Liliana Petea

Week 2 Feedback

Well-reflected for this week also. Good knowledge is demonstrated in your understanding of organisational growth and the purpose of a SWOT analysis. (Write in full sentences referring to the prompt questions for future ILP entries). Your timeline should indeed focus on key events such as your organisation globalising activities, acquisitions and partnerships and changing business models; excellent work! Build upon your efforts.

Feedback from: Ade Olajide

I liked seeing Ramona's understanding of the key events from her organisation and the complex evolution of the organisation chosen.

Feedback from Mihaela-Liliana Petea

Week 3 Feedback

Your reflection on CSR shows sound understanding of the concepts and you have done well to provide further detail on how it could negatively impact an organisations image. We would be looking at this in Week 4 when we get exposed to ‘greenwashing’. The cost of carrying out CSR could also be a drawback as companies might reduce their CSR activities during times of financial downturn. Continue working on your A1 draft.

Keep up your efforts.

Feedback from Ade Olajide

Ramona seems to handle well the understanding of the impact of the CSR on an organisation and her research on the Santander competion seems to have paid off for her A1.

Feedback from Ana-Maria Staicu

Week 4 Feedback

Very good effort and knowledge demonstrated in your reflection. Content on business models should be included in your timeline and could also be included within the overview section of your factfile. Ensure to make preparations to submit your assessment before the deadline. I look forward to assessing your submission. Continue working on your A1 draft. Keep up your efforts.

Feedback from Ade Olajide

A good reflection and approach of the timeline for the factfile.

Feedback from Ana-Maria Staicu

Week 5 Feedback

You have reflected on the week’s topic in a knowledgeable and robust manner with reasoning included in your response. The analysis of the implications of trends such as working from home and its impacts on economies and society is equally well-thought-out and expressed.

Feedback from Ade Olajide

I like seeing the reasoning and explanations of the market trends and the implications of the changes for the businesses through Ramona's point of view.

Feedback from Mihaela-Liliana Petea

Week 6 Feedback

You have done well to engage with the article and identify some futuristic business trends. You can introduce elements of evaluation in your first assessments in terms of a SWOT analysis of your business and to what extent the technology which it implements can have a positive or a limiting impact on the business. Build upon your efforts.

Feedback from: Ade Olajide

A good understanding and aproach with the trends of the markets.

Feedback from Ana-Maria Staicu

Week 8 Feedback

You have provided a good evaluation of the impacts of organisational culture for better or for worse.

Week 1

· While a job is mainly a role we do for the money purpose and has big limitations, a carrier is a wider result of built up experience, previous roles, education and everything that was carefully and strategically planned ahead.

· When having a job I focus on being reliable, deliver the quality required, being professional in all aspects, match with the companies values.

· When choosing a carrier I rely on all the values used in a job as a carrier is the result of multiple jobs as mentioned above. For a carrier though I also focus on stronger work ethic, bigger adaptability, self-motivation to learn and grow self-confidence at a higher level.

· At this point I am 85% confident in regards to creating a timeline and only because of the complex history of Santander worldwide and how I will manage to be concise and also capture all the major points.

· Creating bibliography entries is a topic that I grew to understand and practice in the last 3 weeks up until this point where I am at the top of my confidence in putting into practice.

· My expectations for this unit is to bring more clarity over how business operate and subsequently help me turn towards an organisation or set my mind into the entrepreneurial world for the near future.

Week 2

· Organizations decide to expand in order to gain a competitive advantage over the other current business competitors on the market. By making the first move, this allows them to leave a saturated market and find new customers in developing areas. · In order to expand a business requires proper plans, systems and resources to cope with the increased demand for products and services. Every business has to surmount intractable challenges to grow and expand into new territories so the limitations could be cause by poor planning, fault in communication, inadequate roles and responsibilities distribution, out-of-date practices, financial limitations, need of new employees

· The banking sector as the rest of them has also been affected by the Covid crisis as well as the current economic situation. This will result in revenue pressure and low profitability (low levels of interest rates and higher levels of capital), tighter regulation (after previous financial crisis), and increasing competition from shadow banks and new digital entrants.

· The timeline for my factfile is nicely coming together and the right format was chosen for it.

· I am progressing slowly but steady with my bibliography for the A1.

· My A1 Factfile will include content about CSR in my organisation and competitors

Week 4

· The term business model refers to a company's plan for making a profit. It identifies the products or services the business plans to sell, its identified target market, and any anticipated expenses.

· Businesses should regularly update their business model or they'll fail to anticipate trends and challenges ahead. One good example would be Santander who not only stayed in the bank sector but expanded their services to transportation as well

· The initial business models helped investors evaluate the companies that interested them and employees understand the future of a company they may aspire to join so by changing the business model a business needs to make sure that takes into considerations it’s customers but as well the investors and employees

· I do plan to submit a formative attempt as soon as I put more work together.

· My bibliography is expanding as I progress through the next chapters of the factfile

· I will be including content about business models in the current operations and values section
Week 5

Diversity is the state of being diverse or having a large variety. Inclusivity is the practice or policy of including people who might otherwise be excluded or marginalized. A diverse team has many different unique individuals.

· Having a diverse workforce inspires to creativity, it welcomes open communication as inclusiveness helps with the happiness of employees, the productivity and bring a wealth of knowledge into the room, including those who might otherwise not be a part of the conversation. Fresh new perspectives will allow for an organization to overcome new challenges and provide innovation.

· For a current/prospective employee to enter a diverse and inclusive workforce means he stands a better chance of employment as these organisations include more than just people from different nationalities, they accept individuals from all walks of life and backgrounds. They will be encouraged to have a say and this means they will want to be part of that organisation for longer so will have financial stability.

· Employees allowed to WFH can organise their workflow better, be more flexible with their work tasks but the personal ones as well.

· Employers might be reluctant to allow their staff WFH because they feel their power is undermined, they can’t control their stuff and supervise them as in an office and that productivity might drop
· A forced solution to WFH during the pandemic proved that all fears were not founded and that productivity increased instead of dropping. People sometimes spend more hours working if they don’t have to commute and are more organised when the have the privacy to conduct their meetings from their home office. A city like London could only benefit from the new WFH method as the office costs have dropped a benefit for the organisations but not a good support for the renting market.

Week 6

· 2 of new technologies that were demonstrated at the conference was‘ROOM’ at GITEX, a new video service that creates Zoom style calls with a 3D video game twist and the Chinese prototype Xpeng X, a futuristic flying car is made of carbon fibre and can carry two passengers while emitting zero carbon dioxide.

· Out of the 2 innovations, the one that I think would be likely to have the most impact on a business would be the Room as this would start to be used quicker and have a wider market.

· With Room my only concern is the privacy of the data and the delivery as this is a new product and new technologies sometimes can cause more malfunction in the early stages. With Xpeng X, because of the low-altitude I would be concerned for the safety of the people on board but the ones on the ground as well. Being a prototype, it would have to prove the efficiency first as the flight speed of 130 kilometres per hour is considerably high. I would also have my concerns about the infrastructure and qualifications required to fly it.

· I am planning to use the Studiosity service to proofread my assessment if the time frame will allow me to do so

· At this point there are no factors which might prevent me from submitting your A1.

Week 7

ASSESSMENT WEEK – NO ILP

Week 8

An organisational culture is the collection of beliefs, values and methods of interaction that create the environment of an organization. The organizational culture encompasses the foundational values of a company or business.

· Having a clear mission, companies with strong organizational culture see transparent communication between leadership and employees and collaboration among peers. Employees know what’s going on within the company and why certain decisions are being made. They’re ready and eager to help their fellow employees, even when a project falls outside their day-to-day responsibilities. A positive organisational culture can also improve talent acquisition.
· A faulty organisational culture can impact the organisation in a negative way. Lack of engagement means employees aren’t working to the best of their abilities. Wavering loyalty means employees don’t find value in the organization’s goals, or they don’t trust leadership; this leads to lots of turnover. And if you don’t like your job and don’t trust leadership, you’re definitely not persuading anyone to join the team, which makes it harder and harder for HR to find new employees.

· For my first assessment I made sure that I fully understand the requirements and the mandatory details that my factfile needs. I did a heavy research on the organisation I chose. I made sure I summarize the main ideas in a clear and concise manner. I also asked for feedback from my tutor before submitting the work and followed the deadline so lo late submissions.

· The main challenge with my A1 was to compact so much information in order to keep the required format and number of words requested by the assessment.

· For the magazine assessment I will need to do a bit of research on this new format as it would be the first one I do of this kind.
Week 9

For an organisation to be agile it should be capable to react and adapt quickly to the changes brought by the markets and workplaces. An agile organization should adopt fast learning and decision cycles.

By building a network of empowered individuals that can face the unpredicted work trends of the work environment, an agile organization can survive and prosper in the market compared to the others that refuse to adapt to changes.

One of the biggest limitations to the organisational agility is the culture of the organisation followed by the lack of clarity about goals, roles, and expectations, the legacy of complex bureaucracy, often driven by their desire to manage risk.

· Given the complexity of the company that I chose for my fact file as well as the rigorous history over the past 100 years, I am facing a few challenges with finding the right ideas for my draft but nothing that can’t be achieved eventually through a lot of research.

· I will need to do a lot of background research as Santander is a company with a wide range of products and obviously an agile organisation.

· I will work and do my best to submit a draft for the formative assessment in the allocated time frame.
