    What does Inquiry do:

    • Inquiry strategies provide students with the chance to strengthen their critical thinking, problem-solving, and research skills.

    • Students will be asked a compelling question (hook) about history which could be argumentative then be assigned to research it (motivator; students will want to find evidence to prove their initial reasoning for the argument) through carefully chosen sources by the teacher.

    Uses in the Classroom

    • Web Quest --> I could see myself doing this through Google Sites and creating similar Webquests for different students altering the research articles they will read to fit their reading level. I could see the task being to "fill out a graphic organizer then write a mini research paper" to not only fill our social studies content but also ELA. We could then close the lesson by leaving a class discussion and having the students share their arguments and reasoning. This could be a tie in to social-emotional learning.
