Then, we wore new clothes and went to the temple. We lighted candles, burst firecrackers and enjoyed sweets, snacks and savories. We exchanged our Deepavali gifts with one another and cooked each other a meal. We got blessings from the elders. It is also our tradition to decorate and illuminate the homes, visited the local temple for prayers, and share meals with families and friends. Children get small gifts and sweets. Traditional Diwali food includes sweets and delicious mutton curry with idli for breakfast.
