- the tablets are too few (just 30), many teachers book the devices really early, so the only chance to make use of iPads and tablets is to involve the BYOD-strategy (bring your own device). It works, but it is also a bit messy and confusing, neither is it very secure.

- we have been forced to draw up plans and charts about who, when and how uses the new technology. Also, rules for students had to be established. Now every student writes down the number of the tablet used and signs an agreement. It takes up extra time and it is something we didn´t quite see happening when we started to use tablets at our school.

- the work load for both school secretary and ICT coordinator have increased very much.

- buying tablets brought along other expenses - a recharging station had to be purchased, also the equipment for carrying the devices.

By now we have "survived" the following issues:

- fear (both teachers´ and students´)

- limited number of apps and environments to be used

- students downloading material that they were not supposed to

- problems with space and recharging the tablets

We are still struggling with some problems right now.

My school, Pärnu Old Town School (Pärnu Vanalinna Põhikool) is housed in a historical building which was built in 1902.  Thus, it has been functioning as an educational institution for more than a hundred years .

Pärnu Old Town School is an scool of prolonged and time-proof traditions. It has its own anthem and the honorary badge, it publishes the annual collection of students´ creative works and issues a newspaper. The motto of the school is "the school of different opportunities."  

In 2015 498 students learn and 63 teachers work at Pärnu Old

Town School. I have worked at the school for 11 years now and it still feels as if I had just entered the building for the first time:)

I filled in a long form to verify me as a teacher but up to this moment I have not received the confirmation yet.

It took some time to get the confirmation but by now I am a dedicated user of the environment,

and I think that it provides a good framework for project-based

learning. Composing a Learning Scenario enables and quarantees

a thorough preparatory period that is important for any successful project.

It is also a great means for making rearrangements during the project. 

I have used a Learning Scenario concept while designing my Learning Stories in 

previous ESA courses "Games in Schools" and "Future Classroom Scenarios".

We started the activity during a previous European Schoolnet Academy course that I participated in and the students were really eager to experiment with different layouts and templates in learningapps.org. By now the nine-year-olds have created 76 different apps but they are all private. I am going to try to find a way to make them public for everybody to use and enjoy. The children will also try out new layouts and we will arrange the apps into folders and create our own public Learning Apps page. We will share it with other schools and our eTwinning project partners.

In a class there is always one (sometimes more) student who is trying to do as little as possible. There are probably many reasons: some students are very reserved and shy, some of them might have low self-esteem. some of them may not find the topic interesting enough to make an effort.

In my opinion there are certain things that help:

- distribute tasks evenly and equally

- consider students´personalities and talents

- set a time limit to a task

- make the individual tasks interdependent

- remember - it is not an easy task!

- everybody´contribution should be assessed objectively

- the means of formative assessment should/could be made use of

- self-evaluation should be applied

- peer-assessment is sometimes a good idea

- Timelapse app sounds like a good tool to assess a student´s contribution

- rules of assessment should be agreed first

What I can do (and have done and definitely will do) is to explore my students, talk to them and make my classes as diverse as possible.

Students have also created their own learning apps on tablets. 

They work at their own pace implementing the learning styles that are most suitable for them. 

When taking tests, students are allowed to have more than one try. This way slower students build up more self-confidence and reach the goals they have set for themselves.

I would really like to personalize my teaching even more but it is sometimes difficult, as the students´ skills and experience is extremely different, so sometimes I have to prepare one lesson for ten different levels of students.

To be honest, the strategy scares me a bit... What if most students do nothing before they come to school? I will not be able to discipline them as I sometimes do in my lessons.

What will the parents´reaction be like? What if it ´s just doing things vice versa or the other way round? 3 + 2 = 5, but 2 + 3 = 5 too

If I want to start (and I would like to try:), I should first prepare the parents and students alike.
