         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li><strong><mark>Chemical</mark></strong><mark> </mark><strong><mark>energy</mark></strong> is stored within chemicals, which makes its energy inside atoms and molecules.</li><li>Chemical energy can be released, an <mark>exothermic </mark>reaction or chemical energy can be absorbed, an <mark>endothermic </mark>reaction. </li><li>When a reaction is exothermic, <mark>heat is released</mark> or you feel warmth, if it is endothermic, the <mark>heat is absorbed</mark> and we feel the substances cool down.</li></ul><div><br></div><pre>EXAMPLES:
1. <mark>Chemical batteries:</mark> Store chemical energy to be changed into electricity.
2. <mark>Petroleum:</mark> Can be burned to release light and heat or changed into another form of chemical energy, such as gasoline.
3. <mark>Wood:</mark> Combustion reaction converts chemical energy into light and heat.
4. <mark>Food:</mark> Digested to convert chemical energy into other forms of energy used by cells.
5. <mark>Cellular respiration:</mark> A set of reactions that changes the chemical energy in glucose into chemical energy in ATP, a form our bodies can use.</pre><div><br></div><blockquote>FACTS:<br>In chemical reactions, bonds of chemical substances are broken down, resulting in the formation of new bonds. This pressure wave causes particles in the surrounding medium (air, water, or solid) to have vibrational motion. As the particles vibrate, they move nearby particles, transmitting the <strong>sound</strong> further through the medium.</li></ul><div><br></div><ul><li>Sound energy is a form of mechanical energy.</li></ul><div><br></div><ul><li>Sound energy travels in the form of waves.
