I was fortunate to have a whole new set of 6th graders after the Christmas break, so I was able to restart in a way. I made sure to spend the whole 1st week back from break focused on the students learning and understanding my expectations for the classroom and them when they are in the classroom. I've made a kahoot over classroom procedures and even drew out my room so students could locate important areas in the classroom (similar to science teachers giving the "what wrong with this photo" assignment over lab safety). Now, the classroom runs alot smoother and when I have a new student, they know there are expectations of them in the classroom by seeing others do what they are supposed to do.
