HOW TO TURN YOUR LOVE FOR READING INTO WRITING INSPIRATION (website article)

The source talks about how to write a book with inspiration from other books you've read. They talk about how you can imitate what the author does, talk with other readers to see what they like to see in books, and to keep the books you love near you so you can always feel inspiration. I used this to see how I could use my love for reading to aid my writing, which then brought me to goodreads and seeing why people enjoyed popular books.

*credible website source*

https://bookriot.com/2019/12/11/turn-reading-into-writing-inspiration/

This video was made by a woman who is being traditionally published and she explains what the process looks like. She talks about what literary agents and publishers do if you work with them. She also talks about how you need a query letter to find an agent. After watching this video I noticed how I would have to keep up and finish writing a book to be able to even think that I could publish, so I would have to figure out how to keep myself motivated through this process.

*multimedia source*

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FL9UXIbatIU

Goodreads is a website designed for readers where you can read reviews, get recommended books, and keep track of what you've read. I used this website to find the more well known novels in the fantasy ya genre to see what makes them so popular. I read reviews on a few and found that they were all unique in their own ways but also had other ya fantasy tropes in them just done differently. This was used for my outcome because I want people to feel like they do in the 5 star reviews about something I've written.

*outcome source*

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FL9UXIbatIU

This source addresses how the ya genre, typically aimed at teens 13-17, doesn't have a large demographic for young adults as implied by the genre name. Half of the people reading these books are 18+. I used this to see what other audience there is in ya books other than just teens around my age. To write a successful ya book that lots will pick up you need to make it appeal to both teens and adults.

*audience source*

https://www.publishersweekly.com/pw/by-topic/childrens/childrens-industry-news/article/53937-new-study-55-of-ya-books-bought-by-adults.html

This source talks about a way to keep up with writing and to feel like you are getting something is to share what you are writing instead of keeping it to yourself. She talks about how the reader may see what you've written in a different light, how people say that you are your own worst critic. After reading this source I decided that a way to get me to continue writing a project and to receive feedback as I write meant that I may have to go and share what I write. So i started looking for websites to share writing.

*credible website source*

https://www.writeyourjourney.com/sharing-your-writing-is-good-for-you/
